Kinda like Iran, our problem is not with the people, just the leadership.

Unfortunately for Dexim, yourself, and that segment of L-UAL pilots you speak of, Pierce is not the UAL MEC Chairman. You don't get a vote. Whether you like his methods or not, it is certain he is looking out for his constituency - and that doesn't include you or Dexim. We get it - you hate Pierce. Heard about absolutely nothing else on this forum for the last month. But all of Dexim's irate little tantrums won't change a thing and after a while only serve to create further division. Kinda like a lot of things involved with this merger, Pierce is not going away and ultimately your just going to have to live with that. Cue Dexim with some sort of irrelevant, incoherent nonsense...

Not blaming you at all. But you might want to look in the mirror and see one the pilots that put you where you are now so you can properly place blame. Trying to transfer your angst and loathing for your situation onto another scapegoat ain't gonna cut it. Your position in this merger hasn't been impacted to any degree the way it has in the last 10 years before the merger. I'm not a huge JP fan either but to continually come on and blame him for yours and all of the other ills of the UAL pilot group is not only ridiculous but sad.

Earlier in this thread (and others) there was the fact posted that the UAL MEC, after threats from CALMEC members to firebomb the JCBA, decided that it would BENEFICIAL to the JCBA process to agree to the pay banding.
As I understand, the UA pilots wanted and were working toward getting rid of their pay banding under their own section 6 negotiations.
So, correct me if I'm wrong. The UA MEC COULD HAVE said NO, not now not ever, to pay banding. Where would you all be right now then? Would that disagreement STILL be at a standstill? How many more months would the JCBA process be delayed and thus do you think you would have gotten your PS right now if this hadn't been resolved when it was?
And for their trouble (caving on the pay banding) what did the UA MEC/Pilots get in return?
-No signed letter from CAL MEC that the JCBA (PAYBANDING) would not be introduced in the SLI
-CAL MEC requesting UA W-2's (ostensibly for SLI purposes)
-pierce siding with Mgmt on the SOC training issue.
Seems atrociously obvious (by anyone who has followed these threads) from your post, that you (and most likely the majority of your whole group?) are takers and not team players. Sorry, my observation.
Then, you have the unmitigated audacity to accuse someone who makes these points of "creating further division"?
I am truly speechless.
There is no conceivable way for both parties involved in this type of process to get everything they want. There has to be give and take to accomplish the final goal which ultimately benefits EVERYONE. Again, my apologies, but I haven't seen what the CAL side acquiesced on to further the process.
Please, convince me how my conclusions are wrong and unfair.

Before I tackle your rather extensive laundry list of complaints, maybe you can convince me how my conclusions are "wrong and unfair". Contrary to what Dexim might have you believe, I'm no big Pierce supporter. I'm just pointing out a fact: he's not your MEC Chairman and you have no say in the matter. Whether you like him or not is irrelevant. He's not going anywhere and I've heard nothing to indicate otherwise. Barring some unforeseen event, he'll most likely remain chairman and I'm afraid you'll have to live with that. Sorry if reality somehow leaves you "speechless".

LAT/LONG! Thanks for calling me up. I wouldn't want to disappoint my best friend. Do you still have the bullseye painted on the roof of your house? If I can do anything to help you keep Pierce in office until he moves into the management job, let me know. I'm going to take the rest of the day off - spew away - just don't lie.

My unity with UALis gone. After reading USA today headlines for a decade how they lost a billion here and a billion there, now after one good quarter prior to the merger they are brain surgeons again. Now they bought Continental. Their agents in IAD, completely incompetent, brag how they saved CAL from bankruptcy. Their flight attendants flying pacific brag about "buying" Air Mic. We had profit sharing last year and every year. But because the JCBA is taking longer and that portion "expired", we now negotiated some big deal at the expense of UAL. Uniform deals are held up because UAL union wants to add another star to the wings to symbolize the capture of CAL. You parked nearly your whole widebody fleet to make you ready for the merger do you deserve priority in sli. Y'all seem to forget we were doing fine without you. You weren't. So enough of the kumbaya. I've got decades as captain to recoupe from this debacle. Do you? Our leverage is a no vote. If its not a good contract for my side, it really doesn't matter if it's good for you or not. Anything good for cal will be better for UAL, so "unity" doesn't matter. Two independent votes. I apologize for iPhone spelling. No unity here. Enjoy 20% of your pilots flying for us while they continue to park your dinosaurs as I fly brand new metal. I don't love my job or CAL, but I have witnessed the brain surgeon mentality in person. Good luck guys. I hope we bring you up to a decent lifestyle and your scabs are as happy as our scabs. You have plenty also.
