Correct. Sure, Dexim is stirring up some folks with his posts. And sure, it may lead to some disunity -- ON THIS FORUM. I didn't think I could find a smaller echo chamber than the UAL ALPA pilots forum...then I came here. Sorry, but if Dexim ****es you guys off, it still won't even ripple the entire pilot groups. The problem is that he speaks the truth in a lot of ways. I won't rub it in and belabor the point, but you can rest assured that I've gotten the message from the CAL leadership (and pilot group by default) loud and clear. The result is that I don't trust your leadership, and from what I see so far I bet that the majority of CAL pilots will walk along behind P(OS)ierce picking up the goodies while feigning ignorance and unity. This is the message that I'm sending to my LEC leadership -- I just choose to keep it of this forum (for the most part).
Just because Dexim is the only UAL pilot one here espousing this view, you shouldn't dismiss him as an aberration.
Question for all CAL pilots:
-Do you think that both Master Chairmen should sign an agreement to exclude all JCBA items/issues/terms from the SLI process?

That's what I figured. Your comment that the majority of CAL pilots are most likely in step with pierce is supported by the fact that the comments by them, following your post, are concerned with being alluded to a scab and other irrelevancies to the points on the thread.
I doubt they will directly answer your question or this one here:
Do you think that during the SOC debate it would have been better for unity purposes and leverage for the contract if pierce hadn't said (to the effect): "We don't see anything wrong with the SOC training"?

Don't like the message? Attack the messenger!
I'll allow that he is as determined as a honey badger and that his decorum may rankle some, but Dexim has made several valid points. Much like CAL Vince has on the combined UAL/CAL Forum in sounding off loudly, constantly and clearly about one Captain Pierce. Vinny, while a bit over the top has so far been pretty much right on the money about Pierce and his management leaning ways. His anti union blather typically obscures his message, but I still read what Vince has to say and find his characterization of Jay Pierce accurate.
Personally, I feel as though too many here are thin skinned and recoil when the sunlight shines upon a festering fecal pellet. What we need to focus on is managements assault on our profession, no matter who does their bidding. But we must acknowledge attacks! What I see now is similar to the manner in which the UAL guys were railroaded during the bankruptcy proceeding! The company applied consistent, unending pressure in an attempt to lower our expectations and resolve. This is no different, its just coming from a different group of extraordinarily wealthy anti labor types. So, sift through all the messages and retain the kernels of truth. Stay focused on el hefe and your long over due JCBA. Remember, he wants us to toil under CAL work rules along with only a pathetic and insulting raise.
UCAL has nine billion in cash. Record profits. We deserve a significant chunk of both.
I urge all pilots to watch Frontline, Can You Afford To Retire. It's available online and details the attack on labor that was mounted by UAL management during our bankruptcy. Probably the best thirty minutes you can devote to your future. I tried to embed, but I am just a luddite and not sure if this will work. Google it as it's readily available.

Your impressive list of one or two sentence responses tossing out nothing but vitriol reinforce our opinion of you as well. I don't know Dexim.
Nothing new here, continue to attack the messenger. Jeff loves it!

Let's recap:
- CAL MEC Chairman testifies for company against UAL MEC in training lawsuit. Something about the UAL MEC wanting to much training.
- CAL MEC leadership sends out Email to CAL pilots explaining why they had to split with UAL MEC on training lawsuit. Something about pride, profession and the CAL way of life.
- CAL MEC Chairman accepts a company designed plan to give the CAL pilots Profit Sharing and leaving the UAL MEC with no way to negotiate for equal treatment under the TPA. Something about UAL MEC asking for to much.
Summary:
I'll leave that up to you! Remember we are talking about Accountability and Unity.
