So much so that 28 flight cancellations last August was grounds for the company to accuse the CAL pilot group of a mass sickout in the press. I mean it couldn't have been because the reserves were used up and pilots were maxed out on various legalities and the chief pilots were already out flying or anything. I hear the union is still waiting on the company to provide proof of their allegations.

Do you get premium pay when junior manned? How do the captains flying as FOs get paid?

150% of scheduled block or actual. The captains flying in the right seat get their captain rate at 150%.

Default Hmmmmm......

Time to put the no Capt's in the right seat unless they are a Stds. Capt. or an LCA doing training, in the JCBA. Especially with folks on furlough. Sluggo

Why don't we just all fly every day possible to make up for sub standard wages and retirement and make every penny we can while giving the furloughees the finger?

Why don't we just forget about plans, family, rest, dignity and respect and JUMP when scheduling calls no matter what they want you to do? After all, this is your benevolent EMPLOYER calling.

Why don't we just keep senior F/O's senior forever by jamming O/T in every avilable day off and minimizing upgrade opportunities?

Why don't we just work like mad rabid dogs, sleep on the plane and die young? I mean really....its FLYING!! All of my neighbors would accept peanuts to fly, just ask them. They figure those epaulets are worth at least 50K/yr.

OR, why don't we all just do everything (and I mean everything) possible to ensure that this JCBA is an enormous improvement over the two hunks of junk that are the CAL and UAL contracts? Just say no when scheduling calls. Better yet, don't answer the phone.

Disgusted and off to refresh my tumbler.

Agreed. With or without folks on furlough, that practice needs to go. It is dangerous and Captains that take those assignments are short sighted and placing there license on the line for a few extra bucks. The accident report stated should be in the back of there mind...and the company will wipe their hands clean.

As a shift work employee who must constantly adjust his diurnal cycle, and one who is disgusted with many many things at UCAL, I find that a full tumbler often assuages my angst and provides me with solace, irrespective of the hour of the day.

Here's to your health, and the JCBA that we deserve.

If a captain flying as FO gets 150% pay then so should the captain who signs for the plane.
