You guys are amazing! Why is it I have only "heard" about this "bonus" from the CAL side (I was deadheading on a CAL flight and the crew told me this rumor last week)? My UAL reps have been stone silent on the deals.
Ladies and gentlemen why don't you save yourself a little foaming at the mouth and wait until you hear what actually is presented to us.

"I sure as heck won't vote for anything less than 100% retro pay"
Please explain how you come up with your valuation of retro-pay.
Here's one way:
Annual pay: $100,000
Two years since amendable date and assume a 20% raise:
Year one = $20,000
Year two = $24,000
Total = $44,000
Make it $200,000 and the totals = $88,000
Now it's your turn.
Please explain how you come up with your valuation of retro-pay.

3.7 years since CAL amendable date. Please recalculate.

Agreed. But I want this management to choke on every penny of 100% retro. Maybe next time some pencil-pushing genius makes the claim "lets drag these negotiations out til haties freezes over cause we'll save money"; some nerdy management type with a pocket protector will stand up and say " You gotta be sh_T__ing me - look at the dough we had to payout to the UAL pilots during the last contract". No Sir, I'm digging my heals in on retro pay!

Again talk talk talk but no here's my numbers.
Get real the package is a whole product and I hold judgement until I see what they have come up with.
Oh and the exercise of calcing the retro pay is to show a methodology which I have yet to see anyone post here on this blog.
Ca $220000???? How'd that come abou?

assume 4000 Captains.
6000 Firsts.
assume everyone is close enough on average to 12 years and average mid narrow pay.
assume 7% pay cut from sCAL2002 amendable date.
assume 22% bankrupt pay cut for sUAL since the merger date.
14% average (non weighted pay cut)
assume average W-2 CA=170k FO=90K (under WN pay by at least 20%).
Lets say 2.8 years of retro pay due (compensatory) and that's being generous given the nastiness of the "managers" involved and all the other sins like PBS, staffing catastrophes, risking our futures by lack of planning etc.. (punative) another .5 years. For a total average retro owed of:
3.2 years @ 14%.
40% CA @170k and 60% FO @90K.
$76,160/Captain
$40,320/FO
Total Bill? $546.5M and that's giving them every F-n break I can think of...and these are people that deserve no break and who can calculate every cent in an hour or less.
