Quote: Technical correction, Delta has to park 218 50-seat aircraft. The number of 50-seat aircraft at the time the TA was negotiated was 343. The end state number is 125, which is a reduction of 10,900 seats.
Currently UAL has 550 total UAX Aircraft. 5 are scheduled to be removed before end of year.

168 are greater than 50 seats. 377 are 50 seaters and below,

With this TA, UAL CAN grow 50 seaters (up to 90% of Single Aisle Aircraft in The Company Fleet), grow 37 seaters to (that don't count towards Block Hour Computation) and add 87 Large RJ's (all of which can be 90 seaters configured to 76 seats.)

[And Yes, those UAX [minus the 37 seaters) are limited to certain block hour restrictions.. ]

All of the above are unacceptable when compared to Delta's Scope.
We are suppose to "Pattern Bargain". This is not it.

DALPA also has 450 max total Delta Connection Aircraft. That number includes ALL a/c jets and turboprops regardless of seats.

I think turboprops with 37 seats or less & a MGTOW of 37,000 lbs don't count toward the 450. I'll have to look.

Why on Earth woukd the company pay a regional airline to increase 50 seat aircraft that they cannot utilize? No matter how many 50 seat airplanes are outsourced, they can only be utilized in accordance with snb ratio.

I don't know about you, but I only own one car because I can't utilize two at the same time. This is no different.

I don't know.. why are we allowing the company to have 488 50 seaters (or less)? Why not have a set limit as Delta has?
Why don't the Block Hours of the 37 seaters count towards total UAXBH's?
Why does the Block Hour ratio include International Single Aisle flying?

I agree.. there comes a point where they may have more 50 seaters than they can fly.. but until then, why are we allowing them to grow 37+50 seat aircraft? Along with adding another 87 Larger RJ's??

Big difference.
I have owned two cars at once, and I have many friends that own more than one car. But it's Apples to Oranges.

I don't trust the company (they have given me reason not to trust them) and I also don't trust my Union. Especially now~

From our own ALPA Site-

What is the ratio of flying hours between United single aisle narrowbody aircraft and United Express at date of signing (DOS)?
The ratio between United single aisle narrowbody flying and United Express at the DOS will be: 53% United Express and 47% United single aisle narrowbodies.

Ie.. UAX has room to grow.

You have a lot of questions here. I don't know the answers as to "why" nor do I care. The ta adresses to volume of block hours. If the company wants to grow 50 seat block hours, then be my guest. In doing so they will have to reduce 70/76 hours or grow the snb fleet. Either one is fine by me.

I don't know anyone that trusts the company. I do know a lot of trustworthy people in the union.
