Did you notice that several CrewNews were published the same day that the TA was released? Do you remember that the Implementation LOA was the last document to be produced and wasn't even finalized until well into the MEC review period? I ask this because it stands to reason that most of the CrewNews were written before LOA 25 was finished.

...I don't see this as deception, just as reality of the Union trying to write explanations of the contract as expeditiously as possible.
The Bold area (if true) raises many questions. But the main one is- if true, then the MEC Should have voted NO once they saw that the implementation Schedule. Why did they Vote YES knowing that many provisions don't start for 3 months later, others 9 months later and the example shown, almost 18 months later (if we are lucky).

The Underlined area troubles me. It's the job of the Union to put out correct information. What the CrewNews does, is put out misleading info in that EVERYONE reading it would think that the pairings shown would/will pay that much immediately. NOT True.

What happens when, in April 2013 or Dec 2013 people ask- why am I getting 29 hours credit.. the example shown states 33:08 hours credit.
Will the Union state- It's legal, in the Contract. You should have read it?

I have spent WAY too much time over the Holidays (hint hint) reading through a 500 page document.. plus the other multiple documents. But not everyone will do that. Many pilots don't have the time (right now) to read everything.. so they are probably reading the CrewNews and the JCBA Comparison. Both are misleading.

PS> I still haven't had my 3 Q&A's answered on the Union Page. Why?
Was told that they have too many questions and not enough "volunteers" to help out.
What was the Union thinking? How do you not anticipate thousands of questions from a pilot group of 120000. How do you not have people ready to do this work.

Unless, it's hard to find people to "sell" this.

I assume you're referring to veba?

With 1 for 2 and 1 for 1.75 with M5D starting the third full bid period. Post a trip that from a CAL December bid package that would be short changed by not having the 1 for 3.5 yet.

Taken from the ALPA Site-

How many 51 to 76 seat aircraft does United have now?
Approximately 190 including Q400s.

United Oct 12 Fleet Summary-
Q400 = 15
CRJ700 = 115
EMB170 = 38

Total = 168

Not able to cut and paste my Dec schedule.
I have a 4 day LHR that pays-18:01 TAFB-72:05 Duty-19:10 Flight-16:10

Based on our TA, this will pay 20 hours as of 3rd bid period (good..but why not immediately?).
Bad news is.. until 9th bid period, this trip can and will still be built as a 16:10 hour trip for PBS purpose.

Can you say 18 days on, 12 days off with 90 hours of pay for summer 2013?!

As part of Delta's agreement on RJs, they have 88 717s coming their way. How many similar jets do we have coming or on property? How can we accept this without similar promises?
Ours is stronger - if we want to keep UAX small we don't want to give growth credit to UAX for 737/320/717's - we only give it with the NSNB, the aircraft that removes the future threat in UAX. Currently, there are none scheduled or ordered

So, the fact that Delta has an aircraft on order.. that pays more than our NSNB Aircraft is a bad thing?
Oh.. and I like that last line.
So basically, we can expect the company to have up to 153 large RJ's and who knows how many 50 seat RJ's flying 120% of ALL of our Single Aisle Hours.
And- the 37 seat Turboprop hours don't count~

Why is the 757-200 rate banded with the Airbus ?
It's more accurate to say that the A320 is banded in with the 757-200 and big 737s. The 757-200 has similar capabilities to the big 737s, so it belongs in that group. The A320 is not paid as well as the 737-800 at Delta, so it was important for us to pull it into the higher pay group.

2013 (Jan) Payscales used-
A320 Delta 12yr Capt = $197.29
A320 Delta 12yr FO = $ 134.76

A320 JCBA 12yr Capt = $188.97
A320 JCBA 12yr FO = $129.07

B737-7/8 Delta 12yr Capt = $204.47
B737-7/8 Delta 12yr FO = $139.65

B737-7 JCBA 12yr Capt = $181.24
B737-8 JCBA 12yr Capt = $188.97
B737-7 JCBA 12yr FO = $123.79
B737-8 JCBA 12yr FO = $129.07

B737-9 Delta 12yr Capt = $205.53
B737-9 Delta 12yr FO = $140.38

B737-9 JCBA 12yr Capt = $188.97
B737-9 JCBA 12yr FO = $129.07

So, lets see-
At Delta, they group (band) the A320/A319 together (with the MD88/90). Then they have separate payscales for the 737-7/8, then for the 737-9 and they payband the 757 with the 767-2/3/3er.

What do we do..
The A319 is banded with the 737-5 (which are leaving!) and the 737-7.
then we band the A320 with the 737-8/9 and also the 757-2.

You be the judge~
Motch

* the "underlined" was my doing. Interesting that they make a point of saying they are pulling the A320 into the higher band, but make no reference to kicking the 757-2 into the lower band!

^ side note to the above.
As a 6th yr Pay 756 FO on Reserve, I am getting $108.22
Under this TA, I will be paid $117.76.

At Delta, there is not one category of pilot that is paid less than me and my fellow classmates.

Unacceptable.

Motch

PS> Interesting enough, The Delta A330 and 767-4er 12yr Captains will make more than every one of our Captains~
