One of many reasons there is a disconnect between pilots and ALPA Nat'l.... is.... IMHO, CEO Moak, should have chosen a UAL or CAL pilot to be the 'fifth' ALPA Officer (EA)..... but Moak's style is to circle a tight group of trusted yes men to operate in lock step... this is the opposite of Lincoln's Team of Rivals...... and alienates anyone not in the circle....

Moak it seems is just trying to prove to Anderson that he too can function in the corporate world..... and will take a corp job when he is done using ALPA....

ALPA Nat'l needs to figure out how to serve its members. And as well, ALPA members need to manage their expectations.... One problem is Herndon Staffer career protection.... I don't mean the 80K secretaries.... but the Dept. directors or wannabe's that put their own career first instead of our profession.....

ALPA Nat'l 's New Years Resolution should be... get the union and it's members back together.....

I don't know the CAL pilot(s) involved with UPA, but the UAL pilots involved are.....um....interesting.....

If the CAL pilots involved are good guys they have hitched their wagon to the wrong horses.

This new "union" will be a sideshow for a while while they spin their wheels and make lots of noise ---the one thing they are very good at doing--- but once the UCH pilots peek behind the curtain the whole thing will collapse. Pearls anybody?

The CAL 'president' put up an epic diatribe on FB during the voting process that was thoroughly panned. That pretty much turned me off from reading his ramblings ever again.

Who is the "CAL" President?
I got an email a few days ago concerning UPU from a "United" Pilot.
I would like to go to their first meeting and get a feeling of who they are and what they bring to the table.

I have downloaded their initital UPU Constitution and By-Laws, the UPU Article of Transition and the Meeting Notice and Agenda.

Will read it and see what it says~

I know one thing.. ALPA has now let me down three times. They are a broken record and I'm not sure they can be fixed. That being said, I am not endorsing UPU yet till I know more.

Happy New Year
Motch

Looking forward to Contract 2020.

These are the same type of malcontents that infests all union organizations. They don't have any practical answers to problems facing the members, they simply voice displeasure with any policy or agreement laid before them. These malcontents issue the most vociferous complaints and are composed primarily of marginal performers with low self esteem, high rates of absenteeism and keen sense of demagoguery.

BTW, their Web Site does not work.

Beware of the angry F/O club and any lawyer from the Seeham firm. ALPA has warts but an independent union is a lot more problematic. Especially if it is formed to get around the SLI process.

True, but a good way to fix ALPA is to show up to the UPU meetings in full force. Just the threat of a decertification drive may make ALPA change their ways.
