CAL didn't have a TPIC requirement either. A lot of people got hired with lesser qualifications through their connections. And the rest networked and had good qualifications. All we can do is try our hardest. I can't Stand to listen to the folks that gripe about not being a woman or a minority. Tough break, now get ur butt out there and network and do stuff that looks good on a resume.

Our minimum requirements are as follows:

Certification Requirements
•FAA Commercial license with Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) and Instrument rating
•Current FAA First Class Medical
•Current FCC license
•Meet all minimum FAA ATP requirements

Flight Time Requirements
•Minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time
•Minimum of 1,000 hours of fixed-wing turbine time

Applicants invited to interview will be asked to provide documentation of all flight experience. When reviewing flight time, consideration will be given to quality, quantity, and recency of experience as well as complexity of aircraft flown.

General Requirements
•Current Passport
•Legal right to work in the United States
•High School diploma or GED equivalent
•Bachelor’s degree from accredited school is preferred

Interviews for managements family this week or next.

 

Curious if management's friends, interns, etc are next in February? Not saying this is a bad thing, because it 100% is not a bad thing. It's just the way it goes.

Most likely they have a list of preferences; management family members, then management preferred hires and interns, then employee recs, then everyone else. Just an example of course, but they undoubtably have a ranking order decided of people to interview.

I like talking to these guys as well. I'm just saying that arrogance comes from all backgrounds and yes, some have flown at many other carriers before. Not all by any means.

Since the hiring is on the CAL side, how much weight will having connections on the L-UAL side carry over? Like having letter of recs from pilots or chiefs, etc?
