OK ... this thread started out being funny. Now it's turned a good thing into BS with over use! It's time to cease and desist ... it's getting tired and grey!

BTDT and THAT is a good lesson in perspective. You should try it some time.

I'm not griping. I have found this to be a great life lesson and it's made me a better person/pilot overall, what doesn't kill you it makes you stronger. You assume that I am speaking from the perspective of an F/O. Funny, I've heard most of the same from either seat.
Experience. That is what set us apart from the pilots we flew with when we were hired at UAL, and is what will set us apart from the CAL pilots who were hired in the middle of the last decade. They will pass it along as well.

It's not quite on target, but the intimation of measurement is there:
  1. I.M. Fletcher: I was curious about something your wife said when we were in bed together.
  2. Alan Stanwyck: Oh? What's that?
  3. I.M. Fletcher: That roughly we have the same build. From the waist up I imagine.

Those Legacy CAL pilots who flew the 737 will get this if IAH based.

1. Cleaning teeth with dental floss and having food scraps going all over the pit.

2. using 4 cups of warm water on an IAH to PHL trip to clean all of the cockpit instruments with 3 paint brushes.

3. Switching seats in flight to clean instruments because FO won't do it without submitting a pay claim. FO logs PIC time while Capt. cleans instruments while reading Koran.

4. Flying with a Captian nicknamed "shazam" by his FO's.

5. Constantly hitting VS button because he can't do 3 to 1 math while FO is flying. FO finally slaps him and says STOP it already!

6. Taxing at the speed of heat, cutting in line at the runway threshold, and taxing so close to an MD80 you can count the rivets on the APU exhaust.

The above reminds me.

1. Briefs not to fly through lenticular could as that is where the "Phase array space ships refuel." And he's serious.
1. Claims he often has in depth conversations with Aliens (SPACE aliens). And he's serious.
1. Once diverted a 737 into Sydney Nebraska because he thought he "smelled something" not smoke mind you, just that he smelled something funny.

Was a voluntary furlough and was yanking gear at LCAL now coming back the LUAL side I'm sure.I sure hope you guys enjoyed him while you had him.

Or circles and underlines everything on the release but doesn't actually look at it just looks to make sure the box is filled.
