I waited four years for a cost of living raise from a concessionary contract, 40% retro (well, I'm still waiting for that), trip and duty rigs (admittedly important), a handful of tangible work rule improvements, and a bunch of other stuff that was negligible. Let's just say neither side got enough and leave it there. Anyone on either side arguing "career expectations" are going to significantly alter the SLI is probably going to be disappointed.

Exactly. And none of the things mentioned are in ALPA merger policy.

Then you need to turn off your Bose earplugs, lCal pilots are hearing it all the time. Usually from junior Airbus FOs.

Longevity is a factor in ALPA merger policy. It's going to be a factor. Relative seniority isn't in there.

Nice call with TOP (I grew up a couple of blocks from Oakland in the 70s). Unfortunately, their heyday was in the 70s (when "What is Hip" was released), proving James point about the 90s. I still say the 80s (IMO, the nadir of music over the last half century) were way worse than the 90s... but I liked the grunge evolution (AIC, Soundgarden, etc.).

I'm a Bay Area native myself, and have heard every phase of their 45 year longevity. Urban horn-driven soul, then Warner Bros made them try some disco-like crap, but they have been back into their roots with all their old plus a bunch of new stuff. ToP's sound was something that was (and still is...200 shows a year, all over the world...still!) pretty different, and I think unappreciated.

I saw them at Yoshi's Oakland last month. They put on a million-watt show, tighter than a clenched fist.

Yep that old saying about opinons and corn holes shows its validity yet again.

Just curious...why do you say that? If you are a 2000/2001 hire and have not so much "actual" time ON property, do you think you are entitled to be above another pilot with more "actual" time on property? Just remember, Enron WAS a great company in 2003.. Not so much now. Jmho

Some of those guys have eight (8) years on property. What say you now?

I hope there's no fences. I'm looking forward to DFW!

Wow, these sli arguments never end and never change. If you really want some insight into how the list comes together, take a look at the Nic award. ALPA has spent millions of dollars and continues to spend to defend the Nic award. If you believe that they are going to produce a new award for cal/ual that is radically different from the Nic, you don't know ALPA. Personally, I haven't read the Nic award, as I have zero influence (as does everyone else on this forum) in the outcome of sli.

See you all on the other side of the list (hopefully from the left seat). That's a joke, relax.

And there is no reason for a 8 year pilot to be placed below one with 4 years, especially when the 8 year pilot comes from the airline with the highest career expectations (because of most widebody aircraft by far) and better status and category.

We will all find out in the August timeframe I suspect.

And to those that think that pilots that have been furloughed don't have a career expectation, the top 500 pilots at United were all on furlough at one point, so they certainly had a career expectation.
