Well let's make it comical at the new United. Maybe they'll leave early. Rough wag, lCAL has 600 at the end of 2013. Losing about 60 per year. Most gone by 2020. Last one gone 2028. Good riddance.

Agreed! I do like that your list comes with pictures too. Our little yellow book only has names and a poem.

2. I made it all the way to the Captain's board at American in about 1978, and was told by that board that since I wasn't a "fine young military pilot," that I wasn't qualified. What a crock!!!!!! Every corporate pilot that I know can tell similar stories. Yet, I didn't cross.
3. Back in the late 70s and early 80s, if you reached somewhere around 30 without getting hired, too bad so sad, you just happened to reach the magic hiring date range during a lull, so go be a Wall Mart greeter.
You guys either forget, or never knew, that even the slightest physical imperfection, being the wrong age, gender, race, and just about anything else could be unfairly disqualifying.
Oh, don't forget the Braniff guys stiffed by American, and who knows how many other airline guys stiffed by their "brothers." Without the ex Braniff pilots, the CAL strike might not have succeeded. Not picking on Braniff pilots, but in the end, most of us will decide to feed our family.
I know this is not universal, and certainly there are pilots hired at CAL in 1983 and 1984 who are complete disasters. But, there are many who had been unfairly denied the opportunity to pursue their careers, and jumped at the only game in town.
Even though given the opportunity to cross, I didn't. I simply understand the motivations, some of which are good, and some are ugly. I refuse to paint an entire group with the same brush! Those that do are not much above a lynch mob.
You can, of course, continue to wage the war, but I refuse to hate the North because of the, War of Northern Aggression, the Japanese or Germans because of WWII, or the Huns for invading the Sassanid Empire in the first century. I prefer to judge a person by who he is, not who he was. Having said that, there are many scabs who I wouldn't give the time of day. Many others are good friends.

1. What about all the furloughed/retired airline guys who tried to get my job as a corporate pilot. I mean seriously, going straight to my boss, explaining how their airline experience made them better than me and asking for my job? What about that? Can you seriously state that an airline puke can try to take my job, but I can't try to take theirs? BTW, as previously stated, when offered the opportunity to scab, I didn't. Every corporate pilot that I knew from the time could tell you similar stories. So the airline guys get to sanctimoniously wrap themselves in the union flag, but the corporate guys are on their own. Wow, what a concept.

And I was corporate pilot once too, your comparison is lacking in logic and is ridiculous at it's very best. Because an airline guy applied at your corporation that makes it okay to be a scab. REALLY? Are you sure you didn't cross? Because you've got some serious scab logic going on here.
American DIDN'T hire you because you were fine young military officer?? WHAT?
Your story doesn't make any sense.

Defending a SCAB's actions is like defending a pedophile. It doesn't matter why they did it they did it.

Why don't you go back and re-read my post, or better yet, get someone to explain it to you. To quote, "since I wasn't a fine young military pilot..." Also, these guys didn't just apply at my company, they actively tried to belittle me to get my job. And, lets for just a second follow your fine logic that applying for a job at my company is OK, then why was it not OK for a corporate pilot to apply at CAL in 1983. According to your logic, it is just a job.
Further, since I posted something that you don't like, you call me a liar. What a guy!
To state it again, I was offered a job at CAL for the first class in Nov of 83, and turned it down, to my great financial loss. I didn't submit a resume until sometime in late 86 or early 87, long after the strike was settled.

You either get it or you don't. To cross a picket line is a no-no. You then become a POS. End of story. I come from a long time Union family and can tell you some pretty awesome stories of how Union construction workers treat their line crossers!!! Go and love them, give 'em a hug. They will be the guy who sleeps with your wife . They have no scruples, no inner voice of what's right and wrong. I have been furloughed twice and struggled to keep my home and feed my family. I would NEVER, EVER have crossed a picket line. But that's just me.

You really want to put scabs in the same buckets with pedophiles!

Not only do I, there have been a couple over here that were and are in jail now. Anybody who would take a job during a strike and screw over the guys who are putting it all on the line fighting to make the career better are in fact in the same category as pedophiles, scum of the earth. Feel free to defend your SCAB buddies but they are who they are and they did what they did all of the "good ole boying" in the world won't change that.
Hmm that's a tough one. Were you on strike against your corporation? Anybody is free to apply at any company they want. UNLESS they are doing so during a strike which makes them SCABS. I guess you didn't know the difference? Now you do.

Would you like me to congratulate you for doing the right thing even if it cost you some money? Congratulations you're a peach.
The truth is that you have made no arguments here, you rely on emotion, ridicule, sarcasm.
