So 3 questions for my CAL brothers:

1) When did CAL go centerline tracking on engine falilure in the 756 Fleet?
2) Did CAL have Oral Tests that you could fail?
3) What is the engine failure on T/O profile for GVA RW 5 and SFO RW 28L/R?

We differ again my friend. Cold is meant for PBR and Schlitz Malt Liquor to bury the taste. You drink scotch?

but then you guys probably hate me by now. Hey did I mention I'm rich, and not above buying friends (and that's meant to be a joke so if it's a joke in poor taste I apologize already)

Also I was hired in '96 and we had centerline tracking on the 73-500 fleet as well as the 756 fleet at that time. If CAL got it in 2010 I think what I was told is 100% true. By 2000 we had 777,756,73, and Airbus fleets all on centerline procedures. By the way what is the CAL procedure for SFO because the issue is not that we all have procedures, the issue is which is safer.

And,

how about Oral Testing? UAL has a long history of an Oral Test prior to the LOFT, but now we have none. I was told this was the CAL way. True? If it is true then it's an example of "dumbing down" in the other direction.
You had centerline on tracking on EFIS fleets. Pretty sure your 727 and 737-200's did not, for obvious reasons. Our 737 fleet was a mix of Round Dial and EFIS airplanes until the last 737-300 was retired in 2009, hence the reason for rwy heading until all acft had a map display. The merger had nothing to do with it.

I heard that you guys couldnt proactively correct a fuel inbalance in-flight without waiting for a corresponding caution light or EICAS message directing you to do so?

Yes we have always had EO procedures on our 10-7 pages just like you. Our cooler Boeings have EO pop up procedures on the FMC, coming to the 737 this summer.

2....they teach you the computer oral. 737 ground school was "turn to page xx, highlight lines xxx. Turn to page yy, highlight yyy". Take "oral" in computer lab with class...kinda hard to fail.

Didn't answer any of the questions. What are the engine failure profiles for GVA RW 5 and SFO 28?

There are huge mountains infront of the runway. TERPS do not protect you when you turn back to the runway so how does CAL solve that problem, and when exactly did CAL get centerline tracking for the 756 fleet, pre or post May 2010, 'cuz UAL had it from atleast 98.?

Uh...not my pop up procedures chief. Usually involves some extra dry martinis and olives.
