It's amazing, everyone I run into at l-UAL are good peeps. The ones I fly with, jumpseaters, those in the lounge, and my friends. They are professional, cordial, and generally there is no difference except for minor cultural crud. I suspect any lawsuits will not gain the traction of the masses. We will all accept the decision of the arbitrators, and move on as the professionals that we are! Looking forward to the unity ahead...
I don't think the lawsuits, if they come to fruition, will originate from the masses. They will be targeted from a select few.

Well, those two (and/or other's) would be in the running for "Second"......There's already been a "First" filed earlier this year.

Still not good enough going forward. At UAL we had a dinner paid for by the company at a Brazilian Steakhouse. Chief Pilot was there to hand out your wings with a professional photographer to capture the moment for safekeeping.

Before my time at UAL they would PS your wife out to the dinner in DEN for the event. I live in DEN so they paid for my wife's dinner as well and she also presented me with my set of wings.

What a shell of its former self CAL became regarding this. Really a shame. Believe it or not, there was no Captain ceremony either. Again during a break some staff guy came in and said so and so other more important staff guy couldn't be here so I will give you your wings and proceeded to sheepishly walk around the room to hand them out. A lifelong dream to became a Captain at a major airline realized. Somehow I thought the ceremony would be classy. It's like getting to Heaven and finding dust balls under the furniture and the angels are flossing their teeth in public. If the quality of the winging ceremony was part of ALPA merger policy they wouldn't have to have had hearings. See, I got the thread back on topic.

Never going to turn down a free dinner, but one of the Training Captains handed out our wings. Low key, but he shook our hand and seemed genuinely happy to have us onboard, like everybody else so far. The Union has an informational dinner and everybody seems happy with that. Won't speak for everybody but for most, this ain't our first rodeo, and grasp that there is a lot ahead to learn. A set of wings that will be replaced with other ones very soon is less a big deal than getting all training complete and out on the line. Or actually out on reserve.

No complaints from an FNG.
