Got some proof on that?
He said it at that party. About the same time where he said taking care of furloughees was not in his top 5.

Not to engage in a debate about the merit of the quoted post, but the 1% he is referring to is not about seniority. It's about being in the bottom 1% of.... how do I put this? Life.

Could be, don't know most of them personally but the ones I do know are doing exactly what they are supposed to do, represent their pilots. This SLI process is not a team building excercise and unfortunately it places two groups that will soon be one on opposite sides of a battle. I would expect nothing less from them and I would expect nothing less from the United side with their pilots.

Soon this ugly process will be complete and we can vote in new people from both sides to try and put all this behind us.

Speaking of voting new people in, what does everyone think of completely cleaning house, (both UAL & CAL), and putting new leadership at the top spots of the MEC? I'd say its obvious that a UAL type should be Chairman and a CAL type should be V/C.

All this past bitterness can be more or less buried if both the Jay's bow out gracefully.

Why would you assume that to be obvious? Not throwing napalm here, but curious as to why one side SHOULD be chair and the other vice chair.

What I find missing from this thread is sunvox comparing the CAL MC filing to MLK's civil rights quest and defending the MC for doing what they feel is right and believe to be righteous. These are the arguments he made for Gullaksen's antics. These are the 1% everyone is talking a out.

I am all for entirely new Reps and MEC. What I would hate to see is a lot of the good committee members, the one's who do the behind the scenes work leave simply because they were UAL or CAL. Behind the scenes there are a lot of good people working hard to keep this place running.

As for Jay, it is my understanding that he will not continue post MEC merger. I may be wrong but that was what I had heard.

Not knowing who sunvox is, I am only speaking in general here...

Both sides have 30% who are aren't all that bright and 10% of those who are absolute nut jobs/douchebags, (or use the term you like the best). Unfortunately, that can cause angst for the rest of the group who will probably be able to move on after Tuesday.
I call a lot of UAL guys friends from my 5 1/2 years at Great Lakes. I try not to talk about the ugly stuff and keep a pretty open mind yet there are those like the A320 F/O a month ago who would not talk to me on the jump seat from ORD - MSP simply because I was a 2000 hire. That exists on both sides. Hopefully their voices are covered up moving forward by those of us who want to be a good airline and unified pilot group.
