The top 400 pilots on the UAL side were hired in 78 and 79. They were furloughed during their career. Care to guess what seats they are all sitting in now? Left seat. Wide body.

50 pilots displaced in SEA. All of them have guppy Captain seniority. Exactly ONE of them bid it. Plus we have 7 guppies on the LUAL side now. So we have our own guppies to fly.

 

5 pilots out of 7,400 LUAL. Right. Those guys are fighting over each other to fly the guppy.

 

You should have merger with a little airline flying little airplanes. You would have done better.

 

I could say the same about you. Never said the cal lists was fair. Didn't agree with, said that from the beginning. It had me with 320 ca when I myself could not hold 737 ca. Thought it should go relative seniority of active pilots with a fence on the 747 to compensate for the extra wide bodies. Our 787 coming before yours without a fence would have compensated for the extra 777 you had. Everybody would have been ****ed but the outcome would have been fair. Or you could have taken all WB pilots from both groups and merged them relative and then gone to the narrow body. All of that seems a little more fair then putting a reserve 320 fo in front of a senior 737 fo. And ALPA is it's pilots, however they forgot they had responsibilities to cal pilots as well. So I will now forget about being responsible for ALPA.

The 5 is just in Guam. Are you not watching the vacancy bids. It won't happen overnight but all I see are UAL pilots bidding 737 ca. Thinking that will continue for years. You must really believe the bigger the better, but the bids are starting to show a different trend. Don't care who we merged with my position on SLI will always remain the same. Fair is fair whatever the situation is.

 

And how long were they furloughed. What was the financial position of the company. You are comparing apples to oranges, but you already know that. However I must admit I love how excited you get about the wide body, do you yell it from the rooftops "jumbo,jumbo,jumbo"

 

I've stated before... CAL pilots were duped long ago, not unlike JB pilots, that they are working partners with management. CAL ALPA fell for it too... management has exploited you, like scabs, to max productivity with minimal return in wages/benefits. CAL pilots happily show up for work for less than they deserve... Working Together, Work Hard... get me a free SUV!!!!


The UAL pilot culture isn't about being exploited by management. The CAL pilot culture is... CAL management has done such a good job that most pilots are oblivious to it...

The problem you've created for yourself is trying to cram your perceptions/expectations, a square, into the round hole of reality...

Constantly posting on this forum about how you've been wronged... like that is going to change reality.... you've chosen your own ground hog day to live... your choice... sucks to be you.... and married to you... if you are.....

 

You're right. For you, it is only going to get worse. As UCH adds Guppies, parks 757's and generally expands into UAL bases, UAL pilots are going to bid them and also into your base. Did you expect otherwise?

In my case, there are over 100 DEN based CAL Captains on the 737. I couldn't bid it, yet the junior pilot on that is almost 4000 numbers junior to me. On the last bid, I didn't hold it by 700 numbers, as UAL pilots finally had access to those positions.

Was CAL going to open a Den base pre-merger? LAX? So you're ****ed about a handful of UAL pilots migrating above you in GUM, while literally hundreds of Cap bids were handed out pre-SLI in UAL bases to CAL pilots that should have never held them. You can both thank Pierce/Brucia but also make sure you hate them for what they did to this merger. Their fingerprints are all over it.

ALPA nationals fingerprints are all over this. Den no, lax yes already had it set up per merger. We were already doing the flying just working on the offices before the merger. West coast to Hnl flown by our Cleveland base. My exact point you don't deserve to be 4000 numbers senior to a ca at cal. If you can see that, please don't use the word scab you might just be contradicting yourself.
