The Bus possesses capabilities that the Guppy does not. Along with other company needs they are realigning the system. This is further complicated with the continued righting of the seniority system. Conspiracies are not in play and seniority engineering is not required. Time will solve the issues.
Give it another year. Then we can watch the 787 seniority balance itself. If you open your eyes, predicting what will happen isn't that difficult.

Realigning the system how? The "righting of the seniority system" IS the conspiracy. I agree time will solve the issues but some don't want to wait.

Three years of one sided growth prior to the isl is still in a natural process of being balanced. Pilots who received bids 2010-2013 that would not have under the current isl will face adjustments. Conspiracy no, adjustments yes. System aircraft adjustments is accelerating the process. (See the first paragraph.)

I saw the Base trade as well. Question will be if he is activated before of after bump closing date. With the NPDM on DEN 76T. My guess is letters won't go out until July then close about 2 weeks later.

8-E-6-c A Pilot who has displacement rights may 1) displace into any Category (except for a Category being phased out as set forth in Section 8-E-7-b ) where a Pilot junior to him holds an assignment, whether activated or not, and excluding pilots who remain subject to displacement after the application of Section 8-E-7 or pilots exempt from displacement under the provisions of Section 7-I, or 2) be awarded any vacancy to which he is entitled by seniority

I say give it about 2 years and none if it really matters. Most of the super-senior bubba's on both L CAL and L UAL sides will be playing golf.
I do think that the scabs are a dying breed no matter which fleets they tend to dominate.
The base "re-balancing" may or may not be a wise move from management. I am skeptical that the airline actually has a coherent long term fleet plan in place.
