Sorry but one of my pet peeves.
Yes, hourly they do, but you have to take into account "blended rates", and international ove3rr rides in pay and per diem...
Even just sittin at home, I make more than an A320 pilot getting a line in EWR.

Thanks for the input guys. Wondering how reserve works? What is the call out time. I can drive to EWR in 3 hrs, so I don't mind being on reserve forever as long as I don't have to hang at the airport. I realize there are lots of variables to individuals defined QOL. Just trying to get.as much info ahead of time.

2.5 hours for SHOWTIME if on short call.
They need to give you a 10 or 12 hour heads (depending on time of day) if they are going to convert long to short call.

I was under the impression from talking to a lot of pilots, as well as seeing what my wife who is a 73 line holder makes, that a line holder, on the 73 at least, (I assume the Airbus is the same) that doesn't mind working 90+ hours will make significantly more than a 756 FO on reserve when calculated at the same year pay. I was also told most 756 trips don't exceed the the min day credit. I don't think reserve 756 guys break guarantee very often do they?

I guess my point is more geared towards new hires. You don't get a blended rate on first year pay and you definitely won't be getting off reserve in your first year on the 756. (Likely several years) Therefore a 73 new hire will get off reserve after 5-6 months and have the ability to work 100 hours. Airbus guys are off reserve in 1-2 months I hear. Therefore a first year pilot based in ewr has the ability to make a lot more on the 737 and Airbus than one on the 756 due to mainly getting off reserve much sooner.

I would bid NB fleets unless you like sitting reserve and fly mostly bunkie on the 76T or 756 out of EWR and never touching the yoke. I'd recommend taking the 737 or 320 and ride it out for 2 years then bid your preferred aircraft if you don't like the NB fleet...
