Hogan retake
Just a few questions for anyone out there that can help:
1. Am I to understand that they now notify via email whether you pass or fail. No phone call anymore if you pass?
2. What are the time periods that people are experiencing for response after taking the hogan?

I've heard if you're not successful, you'll find out quicker, but I've also heard people passing and finding out like 15 minutes later. So it's pretty quick either way.

Also, move through the exam with a good tempo but READ the actual question. For example, there is a difference between sometimes and always.

There are two tests that are identical (Same questions worded differently). Remember how you answered questions from the first test in comparison to the second test. Everything is T or F. Keep an eye out for "Absolute" words like Always and Never. With my interview prep I was told to answer those questions false. The other tip I received is watch out for the questions revolving around the "God Complex". There are several articles online that describe the questions and provide great examples.
Otherwise, Be yourself and do not over think the questions.
These are the areas that the Hogan Test values:
The Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) is comprised of seven primary scales and six occupational scales.
Primary Scales
- Adjustment (Even Tempered) - self-confidence, self-esteem, and composure under pressure
- Ambition - initiative, competitiveness, and the desire for leadership roles
- Sociability (Sociable) - extraversion, gregariousness, and a need for social interaction
- Interpersonal Sensitivity (Likeability/Agreeable) - warmth, charm, and the ability to maintain relationships
- Prudence (Conforming) - being planful, self-disciplined, responsible, and conscientious
- Inquisitive (Intellectance) - imagination, curiosity, vision, and creative potential
- Learning Approach (School Success) - enjoying learning, staying current on business and technical matters
- Service Orientation - being attentive, pleasant, and courteous to customers
- Stress Tolerance - being able to handle stress, even-tempered, calm under fire
- Reliability - honesty, integrity, and positive organizational citizenship
- Clerical Potential - following directions, attention to detail, and communicating clearly
- Sales Potential - energy, social skills, and the ability to solve problems for customers
- Managerial Potential - leadership ability, planning, and decision-making skills
