Why bother? Apply elsewhere. This problem will sort itself out.

The Hogan is absolutely not perfect (as a process) and otherwise desirable pilots will get shot down for various reasons while on the other hand undesirable pilots have gamed the system and made it though that stage.

But on the Macro scale it appears that UA is happy with the results so here we are. As a screening tool the positives appear to outweigh the negatives.

The narrowbody CAs that I know speak very highly of the caliber and attitudes of our new hires, with the obvious exception(s) that always occur regardless of the process, so they are apparently doing something right.

Do NOT "follow up" with HR on this matter. Our hiring manager when asked about the hogan going away anytime soon awhile back said basically "no, we're happy with the individuals making it through as well as seeing the reactions/emails we get from those that don't. Because of that we feel confident in the hogan"

So basically if you voiced your oppinion it would be likely viewed as unprofessional and further support UA holding on to the Hogan test. That's just my thoughts on the matter.

Does this really need to be explained? Guys have made it through on a second or third attempt. You send an email questioning the hiring methods, of an employer you want to work for, you basically guarantee you won't get that chance. It's basically an invitation to hang yourself.

Did something change recently?

An unsuccessful HPI was considered an "interview attempt", and UAL (at least WAS) only giving two attempts before before told you will no longer be considered.

Could be, thought I'd read on here there were guys with more than two attempts. Honestly I have no idea either way.

Only case I would know if would be one of the CPP programs where one of them is are granted FOUR attempts. 2 via OTS (if selected) and 2 on the CPP.

If you fail any portion of the hogan/interview process twice, you are permanently disqualified from further consideration at UAL.

I did get past it. Sorry to hear it snagged you. Pretty crazy that your entire career can be overlooked because of a 20 minute test--but it is what it is I guess.

I took the Hogan this morning. Got the email on Friday telling me I was starting the interview process. l hope no news is good news right now. It took me about 25 minutes to finish it. As advertised, it is now only one test and has just over 200 questions.
