Default Vacancy Bidding Block Question

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, (having read the contract) but just to be sure:

If I leave 756FO to bid 320FO, am I stuck in place for two years? (Unless of course I can bid left seat on anything.)

Thanks for the answers!

You can't even bid left seat. You are seat locked for 2 years if you bid the same or lower pay band.

The OLD contract stated that you could bid up to Captain at any time, but this one, no.

2 years is a long time. Alot of things can happen in 2 years. It would really suck to see so many missed opportunities going to others for 2 years. Did I mention 2 years.

Only in "same equipment" so if you're a Guppy Captain and you bid back to 777 FO and then decide you want to be a Guppy Captain again, you can't. But you could bid 777 Captain, yes.

That's the only exception, same equipment.

Yeah, that's how I read it.

I've got to look at the bid packets and see what sort of flying I'm in for, but I'm ready for a challenge and the opportunity to learn something new. The 787 looks fun, but I do not like being the bunkie at all. With the Airbus, I'd be gaining about 25-30% seniority in base.

FWIW, the west coast captains say the the current bus flying is very reminiscent of shuttle flying. 4 leg days aren't uncommon.

I think that's a wise plan... Fly the bus for 2 years and the. See what options are available.
