July 14th Class?
#11
Hmmm....hoping for the Aug 4 class and was hoping to have the chance to select 756. Would be great to know if yes, no more after mid-Sep, or if they're done with them as of right now. Anyone else on the inside have any info in that regard?

From what was discussed today I heard no 756 slots after August. However, they will resume offering slots to new hires again in January! Things change by the minute with planning though so who knows.

Don't sweat it... There is no seat freeze if you move up an an aircraft category (737/320 to 756)... And 756s are always on vacancy bids... So worse case you will attend 737/320 school and go back after a few months when bid activates on 756.

It doesn't matter. Show up select a base and airplane available and watch it fill up behind you. At the end of the day your statement will mean nothing in the grand scheme. If it does, wait till January when 756 is available and have 2-300 people come in ahead of you. Sleep well. What I would truly look at and think about is the DAL TA. you want to see and feel something that has a potential hurt factor to us all, read what the company is offering.

This may not be the 100% correct spot to ask, but what is the difference in 756 and 76T as far as UAL's bidding goes? The seniority seems to go to 76T, so there must be some appreciable difference. Thanks.

It's more that the legacy pilots manning each fleet were in different seniority ranges, the LUAL group that was in the 76T was more senior to start. In the end it doesn't matter, the fleets are being merged and you can't bid into the 76T any longer. New 756 bases in ORD & SFO will open shortly and all other bases will be merged so that by next summer there is only one surviving category.

In 12-18 months the fleets will become one so the current split fleet situation is one of the last echos of the merger.
