We need less Ivy leaguers, and more executives with a strong moral compass.

Baylor, as an institution fills that square much better that Harvard.. etc.

The most competent and employee friendly execs Cal ever had were NOT Ivy Leaguers. The worst were.

We need fresh eyes, a fresh approach. We need people who can "INFLUENCE" the senior leadership to turn this thing around.

I hope we can hire people who believe in PEOPLE. Instead of believing in outsourcing to the lowest bidder.

Our outsourced labor is not working out well for us. Curious??? Does Jet Blue, Southwest, Delta, and American outsource all of their "support assets"??

I think it is fair to say that the outsourcing experiment has failed......

This is UAL. Don't know why you are debating Ivy League schools. More like a coin toss between Bookkeeping and TV/VCR repair. - It's obviously the Alma mater of our IT Department.

Well said. If only we could get a management who believed in the people and NOT the almighty dollar we would have a much better product. Laying off and giving pay cuts to rampers and gate agents and displacing hundreds of pilots do not help moral. But this management team just does not see that. Sad.

Once upon a time I heard from far too many management underlings at CAL that Sismek was the smartest most talented guy around and that the BOD better remember that. As Flavor Flav so eloquently said "don't believe the hype."

I have never heard a CAL guy say that Jeff was the most talented guy. He is smart but not talented. When he took over from Kellner most where very disappointed and worried about his abilities and ego.

In terms of line pilot opinion, I definitely agree with you. I'm referencing pathetic praise on Jeffery I overheard from a few too many 'work hard, fly right' middle managers at and around Fred's friends. Hence why I roll my eyes at anyone calling Rainey supremerly talented given that he climbed up the ladder via Jeffery. We can and will do better one of these days.

I have been waiting 20 years for it to get better. I guess I should probably stop waiting.

Got ya. Anything "Fred" is tainted to say the least and yes, Rainey was ok but not amazing. Ever hear him speak? Sometimes painful.
