Contract extension AIP bullet points

Thanks for the information. Interesting info, and if protecting the 1000 show on day 1 was the issue then i am glad they didn't trade the one protection in the contract for reserves that is enforced. i am sure you are shocked to know that i will still wait to see the language in a TA if we get to vote on it.

Excuse me for butting in but I am a reserve and have known for many years reserve suck even though I have been a line holder most of my career, I find myself standing a very junior reserve line. Yes, I hate SC and FSB. I think the SC use by the CrewDesk should be monitored VERY closely by the Scheduling Committee. I also would like to suggest that the company pays us a lot of money to be available and reserves are just that - reserves. Unforeseen circumstances to keep the operation running smoothly. That's how the Company makes money and thats how we get profit sharing. I commute to reserves and that really sucks. It took me awhile to get out of the mindset that "it is a major inconvenience" to be called for a trip - I just go, it's what I do and I'm over it.
you are normally of voice of reason. But you also confess to commuting to reserve.
Reserve at every airline is to cover IRRops/sick calls, etc. It is not to sit at home and get 24 hour call out. As a voice of reason, you have not claimed it should be.
I am 50% BES. I bid reserve half the time. I fly with reserves half the time. The last flying partner I had that beaached about our reserve system was 8 or 9 years ago. Mostly, we share with each other how many SC's we got last month.
SC abuse? Once again, for those not silly enough to commute to reserve VOLUNTARILY (please see the previous), bring on all the SC's they want. FSB should be paid a bit more, but we voted on the the current contract. Maybe try to fix it in the next.
I normally get 81 to 85 hours on reserve, and have not flown 30 hours on reserve in 2 years. SC abuse? I love it, and it is waste of company resources. But, not complaining here.
If you CHOSE to commute to reserve, sorry, TBSS.

Your shock that there is gambling in Casablanca is indicative of someone who has never been off the sidelines.

What I was suggesting in my post is that SC's are the Achilles Heal of commuting to reserve and that it should be monitored closely to insure it is not abused. I'm not whinning about being on reserve - I did it to myself.
