Its a joke, and not aimed at you. Solidly aimed at a retired sphincter scab.

Oh OK, thanks.
I thought I was missing something. I know the plight of the retired is way off over the horizon. Remember though as far as Pass Travel is concerned, they "subtract a day from your seniority for every day your retired" They like to say they are freezing your seniority. Either way you cut it or rationalize it, my seniority goes down every day I call it up to use it. Just another demeaning circumstance to remember them by. ps sorry I don't know how to tie this post to another, Ha. But I will use the same excuse as before I'm to old to care. |

Are we still talking about 1978 hires? You mean when the STU's were wearing go-go boots and the gate agents had pimp hats and we were all wearing bellbottoms at the layover? The Joint Collective Bargaining agreement was suppose to take care of all that stuff. That was when we had our most leverage. |

UAL furloughees aren't asking for a "carve out". All they want is for the "carve out" that is LOA 25 to be removed.

Ah, Pierre. I almost forgot about him.

Why is that difficult to understand? |

I do know that if you tried to hang that in any LUAL domicile; it would be defaced within an hour..... |
Its an astonishing slap in the face. Agreed.

Here's the way I see it. Anytime you negotiate it costs you something. So, if our negotiators go out and seek something for the 2172 please understand that we (ALPA/all other UAL pilots) will be giving up something in exchange for that. It would/may be wiser to go out and try and get "THAT" after the meat and potatoes of the LOA is reached and use that as leverage to send out the agreement to the pilots, instead of trying to achieve that on the front end as a stated goal of the negotiating process. |
