Contract Extension and the 2172
Back in the day there was talk that "we" would have great power as a potential voting bloc. Is that even possible now or are we too far removed from the pain? Are there specific provisions (LOA 25) that might lead us to support or reject this extension? Any leadership out there within the group anymore?

I think that there are guys taking leadership roles, Randy Ott is running for the LEC in IAH and I think that the newly elected FO rep in LAX was also furloughed. Supposedly the AIP fixes LOA25 by paying us retroactive pay and hopefully the associated B fund match. This will be in the $10,000 to $20,000 range. We will have to look at the final document, but for many of us, this may sway a yes vote.

The backpay will only go back to DOS...I think one guy on the forum had posted some calculations that had gone back prior to that. For the 2007 hires, this isn't much money...it mainly affects the 1999-2001 hires.

This is my understanding....so essentially both groups received opposite benefits. IMHO, this needs to be repaired for blue and black for any TA to be acceptable. |

Couple things.
Is pass travel contractual? Unless the bylaws have been changed, new hires on probation cannot vote. |
