You should get the rate right and yes you gave. You continue to operate under a contract that was born under mistrust and threat. You voted twice for this contract and have little justification to complain about it. PAR/Altimeter hedge funds will still be pulling the strings.

2. You don't do anything on LC?
3. ?????????
4. LC also sucks if your base is understaffed. Actually, ANY AND ALL reserve rules suck if your base is understaffed. Being understaffed sucks for everyone unless you are a line holder and ***** yourself out to the sr manning gods.

The biggest problem with reserve is you just can't plan on anything. You have no ability to be proactive with your family. Your days off aren't even your days off. The six day block of HDO's is all you can count on.
I vote for an increase in MPG for each day of reserve. Say 5 hours, because that would marry up to what our min per day is if we actually do fly.

That's if you're a global reserve. Domestic reserve is better. You have only one FDO. The rest are HDOs. And let me know if I'm wrong but aren't there limits to what scheduling can do with global reserves? They can't roll your FDOs to assign you short call, field standby, or a domestic pairing. Is that right? They have to assign you a global pairing i.e. Lima and south, Shannon and east and of course any pacific. HI is excluded. That being said, and if it's not entirely true, aren't the global fleets better staffed than the 320 & 737. Narrow bodies are always short. Finding it hard to believe that the 756, 777, and 787 are as short staffed as the NBs. I dunno. Someone tell me I'm wrong and insult me. Oh and call me "son". I like that.

I will be bidding reserve again in February, and I am about 50% in BES. I don't care what time they build short calls. I hope I get "abused" with a lot with SC's. Every other pilot I talk to on reserve says the same thing.
The pilots complaining about reserve are in the very very low minority. Our reserve system is fine. I would not give 1 dollar in pay rates to change it.

That from December 30, 2015.
And now:
- OM is not going to change it.
- baseball doesn't want to pay to change it but blames ALPA.
- Grumble is still arguing about his preceived pay raise to cover it.
- Jsled is still hosting weener parties in his 3 ring pool and doesn't care about changing it.
- Line holders are sitting on the sidelines saying "poor things".
The only guys that will eventually care enough about changing it are the guys stuck on reserve after all the hiring stops but by then the guys discussed above will say "let them pay their dues, like I did!".

Watching the new MEC and NC to see how they handle the FSB/SC issue. This could be cleaned up in an LOA about metrics and transparency for conversions. But despite my concern about FSB/SC, compared to my peers at SWA, Fedex, AA, and DAL, our reserve is not as bad as theirs when you consider 10am first day show, APU, SC pick up, and VDO.

20% of the company will always be on reserve. Some few by positive choice, some will make the choice balancing obligations, some through no choice. But one out of five of us will always have to be on reserve.
Looking out for your own self interest is fine. Looking out for your own self interest to the detriment of others makes you a sociopath. Or a Smisek.

No, you also imply that you have no empathy for your fellow pilots who will be stuck on reserve when you hold a line.

And a half-winger is two sick calls away from looking back on what would have been a great career.
