If your management worry about the airline business. If your a pilot just live your life and enjoy what a great job this can be beacuse if it all comes crashing down you'll get your chance to worry about a lot of things...
Why oh why is it so difficult for people to understand the difference between "your" and "you're"? It's pretty embarrassing that a pilot for a major airline writes like this. I hope no management types are reading this forum. If they are, we are just confirming their assumptions about us.

I'm sure they were put in their place pretty quickly by others.

The significant majority of RAH'ers don't want scope erosion at the majors, are doing what they can to move on, are solid professionals and enjoy a beer or two with crews from any airline - again with the standard 2% cutout for fools found at any airline.
Oh they existed and were mostly seen by LAX and SFO based pilots, where a Republic aircraft has never touched it's wheels. They were also seen a lot over in ORD over in the E and F gates where the regionals park, but the 170 never parked there for UA they parked at the end of C. They were also rampant back in 2003 when UA went bankrupt, before the 170 was even delivered and 2 years prior to United Express even operating them. But they saw them a lot in IAD on Independence flight bags, which of course had nothing to do with Republic.

Oh they existed but those of us that actually worked at Republic somehow never saw them........

J4J was a SPECIFIC agreement with USAir it's feeders. NOT UAL.

UAL/UAX was simply an agreement that the UAX carriers would hire furloughed UAL pilots into the jet equipment, with UALPA picking up the difference between year 1 and year 2 pay for the pilot's first year on property.

And IIRC, there wasnt any "push back" or whatever else. That probably holds as much urban legend street cred as the infamous "guppy killer" sticker EVERYONE has claimed to have seen

Not only have I seen the infamous guppy killer sticker. I once had an F/O inform one of the little twits who's bag was so adorned that he had two choices. Remove the sticker or remove himself from the jumpseat. The little coward scraped the sticker right there on the spot. It's kind of shocking to me that anybody would claim they didn't exist.

I never said they didn't exist but for some reason United pilots pin the entire epidemic on Republic. Was the coward you saw a Republic pilot?

I don't remember who he was flying for. It could have been a republic guy or not.

Not trying to be controversial. Please read what I said. I can't speak for any other airlines but at RAH there couldn't have been more than a select few brain surgeons ignorant enough to think those were a good idea. Like you observed, any jacka$$es were put in their place quickly.

As for J4J at RAH with US Airways pilots, I think they were pretty universally well received and appreciated - they brought a he!! of a lot of experience and knowledge to the cockpit and were a cool group overall.

I BELIEVE the only regional flying E170's for UAL at the time of the bag sightings was Republic. Your point stands though, there are always a few 1%ers who give the entire brigade a bad name
