We also had a memo (or two...) telling us to not start the apu at certain stations during taxi in. I have only been here for 21 years, but in my time, that has gone back and forth 4 times. Hint- it's a shell game. I refuse to play stupid management games.

At some point we use common sense, we act like airmen instead of drones.

This. Treat every flight like your passengers are your mother, father, current wife, daughter or son and you can't go wrong.

check your fm. pretty sure you don't need to sit in plane calling ops to remove air "so you can start the apu"
. it's ok to call and start at samo timo. then as soon as they pull it, you can open apu bleed

what i always find is texas style guppy caps sittin up there :15 before departure with the cabin climbing thru 78 degrees and they act like starting the apu 10 min early will cost extra 20 bucks and will make the hedge fund guys have to downgrade from netjets g550 to Citation X and they just sit there and don't start the darn air cond

that's all I'm sayin pardner

Oh wow...you are are so smart. All this time I thought that having an air hose hooked up meant you can't even start the apu to have electrics on, you know in case the Gpu power wasn't working.

Thanks For the tip ***

I heard yesterday the 777 300s will have upstairs pilot bunks behind cockpit that include 2 beds and 2 reclining break seats with VOD. Also read an article today that the cabin will have the new all aisle BF using the newest recarro airline seats...

Are you advocating operating ramp equipment you have not been trained to operate?

Cabin temps while you are on the aircraft have risen to the mid to high 80's as you wait to run apu air. Your cabin is essentially heat soaked and you have 20 minutes to departure.

Would care like to expand on "exactly" as to what your next step, if any would be?

Typically if the station does not respond in a prompt manner, advising them that you are deplaning all passengers and crew for excessive temperatures will result in a very fast response.

If you really feel the need to get up and out of your seat, find a ramp agent that can operate the equipment and ask them to turn it off.
