Just spoke to a friend who got bumped from 787. He is starting 777 training Oct 1 and it is a short course. I thought it was interesting they are getting scheduled before the last vacancy bid guys.

Day 1
1400-1600 - Techniques for entering the bunk area during your break.
1600-1700 - Break
1700-1900 - Dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
Day 2
1000-1200 - Good places to store the extra 1st class meals when the flight attendant brings them to the cockpit
1200-1400 - Lunch
1400-1600 - Interesting things to do on a Singapore layover.
1600-1700 - Break
1700-1900 - Casual dinner at Fleming's Steakhouse
Day 3

Yeah. I don't get the gum 737 captain bids. Do these guys really want it or is it some sort of strategy? I remember that a lot of displaced den 737 captains strategically bidding gum. Not sure what the strategy was.

I posted it on another forum as well, but want to make sure guys are aware that Vietnam is going away in Oct. HKG will be going to a turn. So the only over night will be the island hopper and short ICN. Which means there will be no more dead head deviate trips for anybody wanting to commute. Just FYI
