Quit, retire, fire, or age out; the only way back is as a new hire. Per the UPA.
Edit: This has been batted about with new hires that had been on the list prior to the listed situations. Resolved as: welcome to United, probation, new seniority number issued at Indoc with everyone else. Probation applies, etc. Also, after application, Hogan, interview, etc. |

Remember when the age changed to 65? There was a cutoff date and everyone who retired before that was out of luck. No pilot has EVER come back from retirement and reclaimed their old seniority. Also.....it's in the contract. Stop making up stuff. |

No pilot has EVER come back from retirement and reclaimed their old seniority. There is always a first. Also.....it's in the contract. Loosely added to the catch-all paragraph that can likely be pulled out and beat in court. Stop making up stuff. Scary stuff but don't put your head in the sand. |
