Argh, the iPad provides.

6-D-1 Removal from seniority list.

A cut and paste

--------------------
6-D Removal from the Seniority

List 6-D-1 Any Pilot who resigns his employment as a Pilot, is discharged as a Pilot for just cause, is discharged during his probationary period, exceeds the ten (10) year furlough period in accordance with Section 7, is found to be unfit for duty for a continuous period of time as described in Section 12-B, has reached the FAA mandatory retirement age, or dies shall be removed from the Seniority List.
--------------------

I don't know if this would apply but the courts could decided it. Will ALPA contest it - we'll see. Good catch!

I hope they do raise it. In 2021! ✅✅🆗👍

Quit, retire, fire, or age out; the only way back is as a new hire. Per the UPA.

Edit:
This has been batted about with new hires that had been on the list prior to the listed situations. Resolved as: welcome to United, probation, new seniority number issued at Indoc with everyone else. Probation applies, etc.

Also, after application, Hogan, interview, etc.

There is precident for this.

Remember when the age changed to 65?

There was a cutoff date and everyone who retired before that was out of luck.

No pilot has EVER come back from retirement and reclaimed their old seniority.

Also.....it's in the contract.

Stop making up stuff.

I think that was part of the negotiated deal to raise the age to 65.

No pilot has EVER come back from retirement and reclaimed their old seniority.

There is always a first.

Also.....it's in the contract.

Loosely added to the catch-all paragraph that can likely be pulled out and beat in court.

Stop making up stuff.

Scary stuff but don't put your head in the sand.

It does address it. If your seniority number is removed from the list, you have lost your number and any accrual of years of service. I should know, I'm one of them.

Actually, Continental had a few that turned 60 before the age changed, were put in the training dept. per a relationship with Fred Abbot or Fred Stankovich and then came back to the line after the age changed with their old seniority. So, maybe Allen is hoping to be grouped together with those folks.

Did you get fired? Otherwise, I think there is some references to losing senority and termination for long term medical leave in the contract. Is that what you are referring to?
