Not until the stock price hits an artificially high price due to wasteful buy-back programs and Par/Altimeter Capital have cashed in. Amazing how two hedge funds with less than a 6% ownership stake can so completely take over a company.

After listening to the Investor Day presentation Kirby actually said it. Although he believes his financial projections he wants to see the improved performance before United ratchets up the spending. The whole reason United shrank was out of necessity because with all the screw ups they lost thousands of our best customers. They can increase capacity now by increasing utilization with the planes they already have. When the financial performance starts improving significantly in two years or so United will need more aircraft. Kirby also said we are behind in up gauging aircraft so he obviously wants to do this, but in synch with the increased demand that will take time.

It is also well known that Kirby hates the B739 and loves the A321 unlike Brian Znotins. Seems to me that we finally have someone who running this place who wants to compete and has some depth in his airline operational understanding.

That rant was worse than much of what we see on APC. But clearly, you're the expert.

With the recent focus on Fake News and one such purveyor boasting that "nobody fact checks anything" anymore, you have to admit that virtually everything we see is an op/ed piece (at best).

I read neither of those thank you. Also businessinsider.com also predicted Hillary would win with 350 or more Electoral votes and she'd win Ohio by 5% and Pennsylvania by 10% (She lost Ohio by 8% AND lost Pennsylvania). So I really don't trust anything they predict.

But the rest of the market doesn't agree with you because all airline stock are up since everyone realized Trump would be the next President. So the doom and gloom people are just writing words, and the money people are writing checks to back up their beliefs.

I believe people who put their money where their mouth is, not just someone who sits at a keyboard and writes "opinion".
