In my observations, UPS air district answers to no one but Atlanta. Atlanta listens to no one but their think tanks and consultants, sure as heck some aviation club ain’t gunna tell UPS how they are going to do things. My guess is that Gen 2.0 new hires have proven to be way more pro union than the company would have liked them to be. With the big retirement based hiring wave about to start in earnest perhaps it’s time to get a team in who will hire pro company / anti union line pilots...?

Nothing says "shakin' things up!" like bringing FH back from retirement to do interviews...

I appreciate all of the responses. I did pass, and it was verified via my contact. I was told they are backlogged and not to worry.

If there's been this clearing out, it's probably so they the new guy can remake the pool in his own image. I really don't think it's that easy to hire only pro management /anti union people. Anyone that works here for more than 6 months knows why.

Could be they’ve let more probation pilots go in the last 1-2 years than any other timeframe since the company started.

Times are changing.... millennials are entering the work force in all areas, and they have a different concept of words like: work, communication, loyalty, gender, ethics, marriage, contract, commitment, agreement, duty, responsibility, etc.

For the next decade, expect clashes between millennials and baby boomers as authority transitions to the Gen X crowd.

I don't think many (any?) of the 2017 hires that were let go were millennials.

Exactly. Age isn't a factor. Not only have they "let more go" in the last 1-2 years, we've probably had more quit for other jobs in that same time frame than they are used to. At least since early 2001-2015, retention has been relatively high. So even a few leaving, is noticable.

Point being, SOMEONE is to blame for all of this. Maybe its HR ?

UPS doesn't fix problems, but they do assign blame
