757 SDF: 34
757 ONT: 25
757 MIA: 8
757 SDFZ: 4
.......................71 total 75/76 slots

Recent Class history:
Dec class of 8 was all 75 (4 x Z or “intl”)
Nov was all airbus (6)
Oct: 7 x 75/76, 2 bus, 1 747
Sept: 10 whale, 5 bus, 2 MD, 5 x 75 (1ONT)
Aug B: 7 x 75 (4 ONT), 1 bus
Aug A: 4 MD, 13 whale
July B: all 75 (3 MIA, 1 ONT, 3 SDF)
July A: 9 whale

All 74 and MD new hires were former heavy drivers, majority from civilian backgrounds. Obviously if you don’t have these creds don’t expect to be assigned the whale or MD. OTW, it seems the 75 will continue to be well represented for new hires.
So is there a separate selection process for 747 and MD guys? How do the other assignments get issued during indoc, is it SSN based similar to others?

If classes are not split like they have been for the last couple of months, assignments are based on age (oldest gets first dibs). There was going to be a Jan 3rd and a 4th, but I believe they have been combined. Maybe because no 74 slots to be assigned (due to training backlog), so no need to separate folks based on experience? Last info from company is 74 sim to be up and running by February (to be seen), which should help training going forward. I believe we are also short on 74 instructors, so we shall see.

I have the CJO for January 28th. Anybody have any intel on which fleet they are putting newbies in? An unofficial source said 75/76 until end of February?

Thanks and good luck to all applying!
I'll be in the same class. See you then!

So, for the Jan 4 class, we all got a request to list our preferences in order from 1 through 8 and will be awarded based on seniority of the following (listed here in no particular order except by which they were copied and pasted from the email):
MIA 757/767
ONT 757/767
ANC 747
ANC MD-11
SDF A-300
SDFZ 757/767 (International)
SDF MD-11
SDF 757 (Domestic)
A note says that not all aircraft types/domiciles may be available for this class.

Given the initial position wish list, it sounds like you're on to something howardhughes8.

4 (total) came from Spirit, AK, and USA jet.

19 were corporate

Handful from Cathay

A couple from Asian contracts

A big bunch from the ME (mostly Mrats)

Atlas very well represented

Various ACMIs but when combined still less than Atlas total

Mil was mostly USAF, then ANG, and sadly only a couple navy guys.
A LOT of regional pilots have gone from Atlas to UPS (and FedEx). Some new hires at Atlas come to Atlas specifically to get to UPS/FedEx, as it was nor working directly from their regionals...

Does the upcoming Jan 18 training bid align for newhires starting on Jan 4?
