Thanks to all the insightful information posted. It is greatly appreciated. I was wondering if someone can shed some light into how the commute from/to Chicago would look like. If I'm not wrong, the connection between Chicago and SDF is only from RFD which is just over an hour drive from from Chicago. Thanks!

As to FedEx into SDF, have to remember our schedules are inverted. FedEx is departing SDF when UPS is arriving for the night sort. FedEx would have a flight arriving in SDF (say 5AM) as the tail end of UPS is departing.

So, not very commuter friendly for most domiciles

you are wrong. There are flights from ORD to SDF. I rarely fly it on the MD, but there are probably 4-5 a night (all airframes), maybe half that going into the day sort. I have no idea how easy that gateway is to park at, etc. Also, probably only an option Mon-Fri. RFD is a far larger operation. Another place I rarely go on the MD.

Chicago commute is super easy. I know one guy who just drives it but American and UAL had multiple
flights a day as well as SWA out of MDW. 2 legger on DAL through DTW, NYC or ATL. Otherwise there’s the UPS flights - use our JS finder link or flight aware to see the available flights. Parking at gateway available. We are at the S cargo ramp. Bit of a pain to get to and from the terminal I hear.

ORD commuter here. Do it all the time on company. M-Th nights, there are 4 ORD-SDF non stops, 1 to PHL, 1 to DFW. On Fr night, you are down to 2 or 3 SDF nonstops, none to PHL or DFW. Tails are normally: 1 MD, 1 767, 2 A300’s. Usually plenty of seats. Gateway parking is plentiful, no pass needed. If going out on a 14 day trip, I would usually mention it to a gateway manager, but that was under the older parking lots and construction.

You also have MKE on a Brown tail as a option. Chicagoland is a great/easy location to be a commuter for UPS... and as a bonus, there’s a good mix of trips that start and/or end with commercial tickets into ORD/MDW (RFD) or MKE.. potentially shaving days off your work week.

We also have GYY opening soon, giving even more options to the Chicago commuters. I'm assuming it's going to be an Airbus going to SDF.

Great option for those south siders and NW Indiana folkes. GYY will be taking 2 flights away from ORD....1 ORD-SDF and 1 ORD-PHL.....will now be GYY flights.

So, if you wanted to travel someplace other than your two listed addresses for your CML deposition you would let the company ticket go unused and that money would go to your travel bank?

Could you then use any available money in your travel bank to travel to where you want to go....or are you locked out of your travel bank because of this tax consideration?

Can you expand on changing the second address?

Thank you
