First time caller, my question is about timelines with regards to new hires. I'm currently on active duty and have been doing some future planning with the family. My question is how far out will UPS offer a potential hire a job offer? (assuming minimum requirements met, interview and the application process was smooth).
For example, let's say I leave active duty in December, and am available to start January. How far back in the year would I know I have a job offer?
Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

In my case (2018), I was retiring and started terminal leave in early March. I interviewed in late November, received a pool letter mid-December, and a CJO for a mid-March class two days before Christmas. I had committed to a retirement date five months before I even knew if I’d get an interview. Obviously that’s a nut roll, so make sure you have a solid plan B to take care of your family. The company seemed to care some about your timeline when everyone was hiring, since you could easily find a job elsewhere. Now they know your options are limited. Grab a guard or reserve gig to ride out the wait and stay current.

There is very little that is normal or predictable with UPS hiring... I would not count on any timeline. There are many of us that tried and were disappointed along the way... That said I also know guys who’s timeline worked perfectly for them. This is mostly due to UPS not using a “first in first out” system... they interview individuals then place them in a ranked group of people... those with the highest scores get called first. If you have a low enough score and they keep interviewing people regularly with a higher score you may never get a cjo for a class... many people have waited over a year from interview to CJO but I would say the norm it about 3-6 months from interview to class...

Just as a public service announcement, in the mid 2000s, there were people who waited in the pool for over 2 1/2 years before making it to class.
so I wouldn’t say people never get called, though I’m sure it has happened, some may wait a while unfortunately.

Pogorog52...to give you an update on their latest. I received a CJO for a Feb 2 class on December 9th. Sounds like a few others have been contacted as well (and some for a Feb 1 class). So it looks like the 1.5-2 month timeline is still roughly accurate.
I'm looking forward to getting started and joining the company soon!

My timeline probably isn't a great gauge. I applied Oct 2019 (with a September 2020 availability), locked after attending a conference in person, interviewed in Jan 2020 (in person), CJO in Feb for an Apr class (which I couldn't accept). Then military changed separation from Sep 2020 to Feb 2021. Been a long process but can't wait to get started.
