...so with the news about the big expansion in ANC....now I'm back in the standard UPS mode of 'who knows'. I'm guessing the expansion isn't going to cause any short term changes in growth at SDF but suddenly all the rumors about the 74 seem contradicting as usual.

Except our fearless social justice warrior of a CEO kaboshed the plan because it would include spending money? Was that the expansion plan you speak of?

Weren't they supposed to tear down the current sort facility and build a new one across the street? That would leave a few more parking spots for airplanes on our ramp up there, thus the expansion?

Construction set to begin on new SDF hangar
UPS Airlines has filed construction permits to begin work on its new aircraft hangar at Worldport. The project, announced in late 2019, is expected to break ground in September 2021, with completion anticipated in early- to mid-2023.
The new 262,000-foot-hangar will be purpose-built for the company’s 747-8 fleet. The structure will be large enough to house two
-8s simultaneously, with additional ramp
space to park seven more.
Due to limited available space at Louisville
Muhammad Ali International Airport, the new
hangar will reside on the northwest corner
of the campus, on the opposite end of the
parallel runways from Worldport and the existing hangar.
“We look forward to bringing this new facility on line to maintain our expanding fleet,” said Bill Moore, Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Vice President. “As we move what matters for our growing international customer base, we must enhance our support structure to ensure safe, reliable air express service.”
