Hi Gents,
Has anyone heard recently what sort of experience is getting applicants a call / invite especially in this environment?
Also is the initial contact an email or phone call? I get a lot of spam calls and hope I wouldn’t miss it.
I’ve been applying for 4 years now and crickets. Sitting on three type-ratings, 8000TT with 2000PIC with CP and decent international experience. Presently employed on 737.
Finally managed to get an internal recommendation, hoping it’ll change my fortunes. App shows Active.
Cheers all.

It's my first post... be gentle. I've RTFD multiple times and it still isn't crystal clear. I've searched the forum archives for the particular answer, and while I'm sure it's floating around the nets, I can't find it. I'd rather get ridiculed by the internet than tube my UPS app because I don't want to ask a stupid question.
On the Flight Crew Application Supplement, Section II Flight Time, it states:
"UPS considers Instructor/Evaluator time as PIC time. List the PIC and Instructor/Evaluator time separately in the appropriate columns."
Perhaps I don't have the required reading comprehension skills, but this statement appears to contradict itself.
Under the "Add Aircraft Information", there is a separate block for PIC and a separate block for INST/EVAL. So for example if I had 600 hours of non-instructional PIC time and 400 hours of INST/EVAL time, I would fill out those blocks as 1000/400 or 600/400? I'm inclined to think the directions want me to put 600PIC and 400INST/EVAL (listed separately in the appropriate columns), and the rest of the form is combined PIC+Inst/Eval of 1000.
The Part B Section II just lists PIC time and/or Total time, and it's pretty clear that those blocks are intended for the cumulative PIC+Inst/Eval times, per the first half of the instructions (Instructor/Evaluation time as PIC time).
RTFQ/RTFD, got it. Maybe I just have terrible reading comprehension?

At least that’s how I did it. Standard disclaimer, I don’t work for HR but I’ve proofread a lot of apps and most of them are here now so if I’m wrong it must not be too wrong.

Hello, reviving a little the subject !
After you have someone recommending you with HR!
Does it increase your changes to get a call or it just puts your app at the top of the pile?
Applied last month, fingers crossed!!
My stats 8,500tt 3100 turbine PIC all civilian !
5 types!! And Bachelors degree!
Thanks !!

I don't think anyone outside of HR knows for certain how/where/when internals help. I will say that I was in the pool for about six months. Two weeks after I got an internal, I got the call for class. Make of that what you will.

“UPS considers Pullman Brown the best color for delivery vehicles. List the PIC and Instructor/Evaluator time separately in the appropriate columns.”
The first sentence is informative and includes no directions. The second is directive.
Don’t overthink it; just do what it says to do.
Disclaimer: I just work here. I (and others posting) have no idea what HR was thinking when they made the application or if they really care how you list your time. I followed their instructions as literally as I could and they offered an immediate job, so I guess that was good enough. Don’t fret about this stuff, just do what you think it says to do and be prepared to explain it if it comes up. As a single point of reference (though I know several others who had the same experience), they didn’t ask about or discuss my hours in the interview. They never even referenced my logbook/flight records when I was present.

The instructions seem pretty clear. There is one statement about what UPS considers, and one directive statement. The statement about what UPS considers is informative. Think of it this way:
“UPS considers Pullman Brown the best color for delivery vehicles. List the PIC and Instructor/Evaluator time separately in the appropriate columns.”
The first sentence is informative and includes no directions. The second is directive.

That’s basically how I read it. Just wanted to make sure since the UPS app seems to be a pass/fail test and I wanted to get it right. My app is showing “active” and I haven’t received any TBNT email yet, so that’s a win. I’m stuck in a hotel room for 7 days, with nothing but a laptop and time. Overthinking is all I’ve got... cheers
