UPSPilott,
Good luck with getting a single pay scale for everyone. If you can negotiate that (Capt pay for F/O's) I'd vote "Yes" for it, really. After spending time here on the forum and witnessing first hand your impressive debating skills coupled with your factual, cogent and persuasive advocacy, I have no doubt UPS will agree to your idea. I just have to laugh at the premise, which is basically what I said a few posts prior, about your attitude, you want a trophy for coming in 5th place, because it's "just not fair!" (insert visual of a little girl stomping her feet). You might want to head up to Seattle where getting stoned is legal, just walk away from the keyboard after you light up.
On a different note, the other night in the ASC, I saw a few NURPS, one who I know, from ANC huddled up in the ASC in deep discussion, and you could see the fear in their eyes.. I think something big is going to go down here soon, and I know some of the NURPS are nervous. Hopefully it won't affect any IPA bro's

Appreciate the kind words.
I've flown with many of the "doomsday prophets" you all have been sparring with and believe it or not, they really are good people. I bet you'd enjoy flying with and hanging out with them on your layovers. Yes, there are huge disagreements here BUT that's all they are - disagreements. As I said before, HR did a great job bringing in folks with all kinds of backgrounds and experiences, people who all work together very well. So don't let some of the ultra negative comments on APC fool you, they might disagree with you and I BUT they'll have your back when needed.

All have to voice their concerns and desires to the negotiating committee and I'd advise everyone to do the same..
Many of us submitted our viewpoints in the C4A survey. I personally and many of my friends emailed the EB about this issue before. Honestly I'm not holding my breath. I've overheard MANY captains say that the last contract was all about fos and now it was their time. The b-scale (pay-wise) has been eliminated so I sort of see their point. Fixing the retirement b-scale for those who won't ever upgrade isn't high on anyone's agenda. Including many of the junior fos who got hired here young enough not to have to worry.

Dang! Hope this reply won't jinx us all??!!

108% IPA!
...
By the way, all those rumors of managers worrying about their jobs are spread by managers themselves. Don't believe them. I wish there was some validity to those rumors but I seriously doubt there ever will be. I hope I'm wrong.

For several months now I've been flying with brand new managers who're flying like crazy to get off their high-mins status. 3 so far and apparently 5 more are approved for ANC. One had an interview last week, they don't know yet if he/she'll become an ACP or go to the training center.
NURP status affects us all. Operationally, the captains usually get displaced by them. For the junior guys/gals, on top of delaying our upgrade we also get the extra benefit of getting to fly with them all. ..and on some specific trips very frequently so because displacing fos isn't very popular amongst them. Who knows, maybe they're building that pic time for a reason after all? LOL
It's weird when you initialize acars and your captain's gems # starts in the mid 400 thousands...
Oh well, c'est la vie as they say in ..Bangladesh or some other faweign place..

.

I like the nine year-old girl soccer player analogy...funny stuff. And being the wizard-of-smart that he is (and likely a desciple of one of the Falujans) I'd love to hear how he'd implement such a Marxist scheme and how he'd delineate responsibility and accountability for a given flight. Also...there is another fault in his "logic". If he's for equal pay for both seats, then he shouldn't have problems with NURPs who leapfrog into the left seat...many of them are fellow traveler masterminds who deserve to be captains because the are just so darned brilliant...like he is.

Seriously, now who's spreading BS about the "managers" ?

A more logical explanation exists, devoid of rumor and innuendo:
It was night.
They had to fly.
And there was probably weather.

Why mention actual hard times when we can all wring our hands for a holocaust victim like you. Poor little girl...how do you find the strength to go on? You would have made a great Oprah guest in the day...I bet you can cry on cue, right? Oh the horror...does Delta want such "men"? Guess we'll find out.

I'm not spreading rumors, I know 2 mgrs, from the Air Force, the other night one of them was huddled up with a few other Mgrs and they were in a deep conversation, not your usual small talk, back-slapping...I've known the dude for 20+ years and normally we'll talk, but the other night He looked worried and all he could manage was a quick wave. Another weird event, My son and his classmate are pilots and were going to fly into SDF and meet a very high up Mgr (My son's classmate is friends with the Mgr's family) the Mgr was very excited about showing the boys around the ASC etc...he cancelled the trip and said he's going to be real busy this month and to reschedule it for the fall semester! not next week or 2 weeks from now, but the Fall!...not spreading rumors just a vibe that something's going on, ie the cancelled class, and the Mgrs seem nervous about something.
