Why a Pilot Should Want to Work at UPS
#132
I'm not spreading rumors, I know 2 mgrs, from the Air Force, the other night one of them was huddled up with a few other Mgrs and they were in a deep conversation, not your usual small talk, back-slapping...I've known the dude for 20+ years and normally we'll talk, but the other night He looked worried and all he could manage was a quick wave. Another weird event, My son and his classmate are pilots and were going to fly into SDF and meet a very high up Mgr (My son's classmate is friends with the Mgr's family) the Mgr was very excited about showing the boys around the ASC etc...he cancelled the trip and said he's going to be real busy this month and to reschedule it for the fall semester! not next week or 2 weeks from now, but the Fall!...not spreading rumors just a vibe that something's going on, ie the cancelled class, and the Mgrs seem nervous about something.
Everybody, including our own special holocaust victim had better gird their loins. Look at your seniority and get used to it. If you're a Delta man like holocaust victim get out now...nirvana awaits and your incalculable talent is wasted here. There's a new old sheriff in town and his name is Scott.

You must be new to this industry. Years ago son, there were airlines (Eastern, PanAm, USAirways, ....) that guys sat sideways for 10 years, f/o for 15 years and finally upgraded their last 5. This stagnation isn't something new to aviation.
You sound like one of the "privileged intitlement minded" youngster of today.

Well apparently the NURPS are very worried that IPA pilots will be able to give some of the check rides during training, the ones now that mgrs can only give. IPA will get many of these events soon, further making NURPS useless except for anything other than writing idiotic bulletins and strait ending magazine racks. Straight from a nurp's mouth.

Senior Dork: as soon as you sign for the logbook, you too can make equal pay.

Young "Danny Boy" got a first place trophy for everything his whole life...for tying his shoes or even getting up in the morning. Oh yes...golden boy was/is the new messiah of this industry, and for you to mention anywhere else or another time is ridiculous...history began with him. The fact that he isn't in class at Delta right now is a travesty in itself.
Oh the horror!

Won't you think reduction of NURPS in the training center = more flying for them?? I don't think ups will let these guys just sit around they either gonna fly or do training. It's a circus anyway you look at it. The idea of NURPS needs to go away all together.

Maybe its finally dawned upon them that anything good about their jobs, is courtesy of the IPA (trips, rest, catering, because lots of times their riding in a union cockpit for free). The aspects of their jobs that stink ...

Yes Commrade, everyone should be paid the same, no one is special. By the way, while you're at it...you sign the release, the logbook and assume the responsibility! I'm sure Stalin and Fidel would agree....for a small fee of course. Another way to look at it, pay could be based on seniority? Or not.
