It appears UPS usually puts out Vacancy Bids out on friday afternoons. That is from recent history bids.

So I would say yes. 72 upgrades? I will wait another 5 years for the 777 bid. lol-:)

747 too loud and old technology cockpit. not impressed.

Interesting.. a couple of guys who went to the recent ANC meeting got the impression the bid would be coming out on the 16th? ..or maybe they meant BY the 16th?

Either way, good to be talking about hiring again.. :)

Bid on the 16th. Approximately 60 plus ANC 747 CPT vacancies, with slightly more 747 FO vacancies expected. Also expect additional MD11 ANC vacancies, unknown number.

Flight deck air directly from pack 1 and 3 contributes to increased noise. SB installing main deck TEMP OFF position reducing packs to economy flow in cruise may mitigate noise somewhat.

747-8 flight deck is more modern than all Boeing aircraft save 787.

What's the commute like to ANC?

The -8 flight deck is nice, but its not even as advanced as a 777.

Thank you for your continued interest in employment at UPS. This application does not require any attention at this time.

The question everyone is asking is why is UPS planning on Hiring so many? This is not how they operate. They are so tight on hiring.

The Rumors are 300 to 400 new hires in 2017, why? They only hire at the bare minimum to cover Attrition. There is only 60~ mandatory retirements in 2017. And lets say another 80 leave early. That is not close to the 300+?????? they plan on. So why?

No new gateways announced, only two new planes in the late part of the year. Oct. for the first delivery?

Very strange. Something is up. Any thoughts.

There is some demand from provisions of the new contract: scheduling rules, IPA guys doing more training, and the vacation OCV is probably a big draw item. I think they are also short in general so there is a catch up factor in there as well.
