A 'workaround' that I have heard HR tell people (so caveat emptor as it is third-hand) is to apply again using a different email address.
Then again, come 1 January all the 2016 applications get flushed and you'll have to reapply anyway... I guess YMMV |

HR told me specifically not to do this.
I guess YMMV Your info is better-sourced than mine was...thanks for sharing! |

Has anyone heard anything since the FAPA meet-and-greet?

The hiring numbers are driven by several different things. Lets look at the first one. On April 1st the second payment will be made for the ratification bonus. The day after will result in the highest single day of people retiring at UPS Airlines ever, go figure. To prepare for this UPS is guessing, as best they can and hiring accordingly.
Second, to prepare for the first additional aircraft, yes, a shinny new -8, they have to start the new hires in May so they are trained and consolidated in time for the staffing levels to be adequate come October. But wait, there is another bird coming 6 weeks later, so there needs to be staffing for that. Then, since there is 5 more planes coming in 2018, we need to hire in a timely fashion to have the proper staffing when those arrive. See where I'm going here. Basically this translates into hiring all year. Sure, we can throw in a few new hires to account for our new Optional Crewmember Vacation and other contract improvements. Really there isn't as many as you think and we plain sold our buts in a couple areas, but that's another post. So UPS hiring will run just about all year long, doubt we'll achieve staffing to allow training during peak but the company did say that was on their wish list. |
I've flown with 2 guys that are leaving in April but are in no hurry to tell the company. I think the people leaving here in the next 6 months is higher than anticipated. Also, the company thought more guys would take the money for the new vacation rules. Instead, they are taking they pay period off. Go figure!!

I've flown with two guys planning to retire April 2 as well and haven't told the company yet. They each knew several others doing the same thing. As of last week, the rumor we heard for retirements was 88. |
More than likely will have 3 747-8's by end of next year, with 5 still arriving in 2018.
