How often do the video invites go out? Does this seem to be cyclical, or is it a metered thing? I'm trying to get some feel for the new hiring method at AA, as opposed to what I was accustomed to at USAirways. Thanks!

Default OBAP

I am curious on everybody's thoughts on attending OBAP. Do you think this is something that would benefit an individual trying to get hired at American?

I was completely skeptical about attending Women in Aviation and OBAP until I actually went. I was disheartened walking in there and seeing 5000 people competing for the same job I wanted but I knuckled down and stood in line to meet and greet. I absolutely feel like I am a new hire at AA because of my attendance at WIA. I have heard the same things about OBAP so, give it a shot. It might really make a difference. If I hadn't gone, perhaps I would still be waiting for an email??? FWIW.

I know many highly qualified guys who went to the job fair in Miami back in January, meet with AA and were told to expect a call soon. To date, nothing has been heard.

When exactly would a new hire know 'which side' they might be hired on to? Is it before class or on day 1 of class? And, if on the US Airways side, could they defer until they could hold AA side?

Can someone give a few more details as to what the video interview is in detail please. Is there a live person on the other side or are there simply the questions on a screen for you to answer? Do you stay seated, do they asked to stand up [to see your full suit]?

Thank you in advance.
