jetBlue Hiring

This info was put out at the JetBlue Presentation today;
Skills section was designed for non flyer jobs and will probably be removed from future pilot applications, "ok to leave it blank"
Training failures the most important thing is to list them and an explanation of what happened and what you learned, if no explaination is listed it's not a deal breaker, they will ask about the details on the phone interview. This is all about the INTEGRITY value at JetBlue. Come clean up front! (even mentioned that they have hired people with up to four failures)
Currently around 74 people in the pool. Should be empty by summer.
Interviews from this window should start March after window closes and go till June and nothing during the summer months.

Remember one of the core values is fun. So don't go with the typical, standard, blah blah blah boring formal type. Make it stand out. I scanned a hand written note from my mother about why I should work here. They were laughing about it hours later. Worked. I'm here.

New guys and Poolies Blue Pilot Fund
Guys I got this from the BP. Most if not all newbs have a hard time logging in or don't bother with it(bluepilots.com, not the BPF). Blue Pilot Fund is our pilot to pilots assistance program. Pilots donate and pilots in need get help. You must join to get help if needed! Please consider joining the PBF when you get hired. I know first year pay bites but in the end your only looking at 2-3 beers a month in dues and hopefully you will never need it, but if you do it can be a life changer.
We at the BPF really want to help you in the time of need. However you must take the very simple sets to becoming a member of the BPF.
Go to BCSS and join
Write a Check to the BPF
Write a letter to the Chairman explaining your financial situation prohibits you from spending another dollar and you will most likely be granted a one year membership.
We need your help reaching out to the new hires. Please continue to ask the guys and girls your fly with if they are a member of the BPF and let them know how to join.

Our records show you have never donated or otherwise requested Blue Pilot Fund Membership. For all pilots hired January 23, 2013, they had at least a one year grace window to join the Blue Pilot Fund. (Your grace window actually ended on 04-01-2014.)
If you go to BCSS / My Life & Career tab / Blue Pilot Fund and start (and maintain) a $5.00 per paycheck donation you will be able to file an HN we will acknowledge one year from the first donation.
While we regret not being able to acknowledge your Hardship Notification at this time, the grace windows do have a purpose. We cannot maintain our current low amount of dues and be able to offer the support we can offer (and have offered) if the entire pilot group is eligible even though a much lesser percentage of the pilot group donates.
Thank you again.

This option exists because we don't want to exclude someone who comes to JetBlue then immediately has to deal with their own serious medical issue, a spouse or child with cancer perhaps, etc.
If you don't do that or don't otherwise join via donation, then you will need a year's time and a year's worth of donations to gain eligibility. Please take advantage that first year and gain instant eligibility. Juniority has its privileges (with the BPF at least).
In closing, one pilot received $20,000+ in about 18 months. Another pilot received $17,000+ in one day. A few have received $15,000+ and tens of pilots have received $8000+. The help you receive from the BPF can be significant.

Yep I have tried on three separate attempts to join BPF...just tried again just now...IPad won't allow me to log on.
The whole process needs to be updated...writing a check is soooo 1989. Who writes / accepts checks anymore? ALPA I guess so that says it all.

Were you not given an opportunity in new hire training to sign up? I'm pretty sure that's how I did. But we had laptops then so maybe I did it on there without the iPad issues. I don't recall anybody having any problems signing up though.

Never worked for me on iPad or home computer. I got it done by using the computers in the lounge in JFK. Yes, first year pay is tough but I've always lived my life by the save, give, and spend mentality.
