^ good post!

I fly with some really senior guys in ACY and it's nice that a lot of them still care, some of the senior FAs need to go though, lol.

Oh, and yeah Mr. "I'm typed in a 747" but I've got no time in it. I list it as my position on here and I have the sticker in my flight bag. Real impressive dude. Don't let the door hit you...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Spirit isn't perfect, and far from it. It is a sweet place to work, but we can make it better. WE have to act and change the culture. Pilots can change the culture - we just have to engage those around us who damage the product. We must demand standards be kept! The pilots who don't speak up are ones empowering the rest of the team to continue with their substandard behavior. Speak up! And I don't believe the "it's not my job" crowd. It IS your job. If you sit and look through the cockpit window at inadequate service and let the plane fly like that OUR customers suffer and so do we. Do nothing you are partly responsible. Especially if you are PIC. You're a manager. A team leader. It's in the FOM. The company supports that you are a manager and leader. They can't have eyes everywhere that's why they have US. If you don't think so, resign and let a leader take your shoes. This company is trying to grow, and while I'll demand pay commensurate, I'll act like I deserve it at least.

And, let's stop referring whiners!

Sorry, rant over. And sorry for our sick brother. Let's help him if we can.
Couldn't have said it better myself. This is my company, I'm an employee and shareholder. I have a vested interest in its continued success.

BUT, open time sucks this month!

A Spirit Sirlines new hire collapsed in class. He's in the hospital, recovering from unexpected brain surgery.

As a new hire, he wasn't covered by insurance.

Any and all help is surely appreciated.

Disgusting that benefits are not offered on day 1 of class! There is no excuse for this; and it MUST be addressed during the next round of negotiations.

We may also want to look into creating a program like Delta's DPMA which functions as financial assistance program for their disabled pilots. For those who have never heard of it, it was started way back when by Chicago and Southern Airways and continues to operate on behalf of Delta pilots to this day. As we continue to grow in numbers, sadly the occurrence of these medical issues and disabilities among our own will increase.

If you guys decide to do that I am sure the jetBlue pilots can help you out. We have the BPF (blue pilot fund) to help guys when things like this happen. It is well run and all done by pilots.
I am sure we could get you some contact info.
Sorry to hear about one of your pilots, we just lost two and the response from our pilot group has been amazing.

I've been giving to the better spirits fund since I got hired too. It would be nice to see some of that money go to Danny in addition to what we've all contributed to his fundraising website.
