Any and all help is surely appreciated.

Terrible, terrible news. Our thoughts go out to him and his family.

Does anyone know if the company is doing anything for him?

This is their chance to do the right thing. I hope they don't blow it. Among many other items, it's embarrassing and demeaning for the ENTIRE profession to not have health coverage for the first 90 days here.

Absolutely terrible. I hope they will be able to back date his cobra from his last company.

You have 60 days to request COBRA coverage from your previous employer.

I agree but you can't just hold the company accountable on this, it was negotiated and voted on

Do NH start paying dues on day one, if yes, It would be nice to see a ALPA gap coverage for those 90 days.

That is sad but extremely true. We are our own worst enemies at times. Lack of leadership from management created the space and need for unions to exist...and yet we fail our own profession at nearly every turn by taking a giant sh!t on junior pilots.

The pilots with longevity justify their greed/voting with IGNORANT statements of 'they've gotta pay their dues' or 'that's the way it's always been'. That is unacceptable and is a mindset that keeps us where we are...an embarrassment in comparison to ANY other profession.

Sadly, this is the second story in recent weeks I've read about one of our 'sub-90 day' pilots being diagnosed with a brain tumor. I hope we as a pilot group can contribute a meaningful amount of money to help this pilot and his family in this difficult time. Get the word out. Look at what the JB pilots were able to raise for one of their own last week. We can (and should) do more.
