Worked perfectly yesterday! But then again, the wind uplink actually worked as well.
It works, but not sure if it is something I'll be using. You have to request the PDC first so 30 minutes out is the earliest you can even do it. SIDS and Stars are not included and all "discos" need to be removed.

So if I was sitting there, with paperwork, I'd feel pretty pathetic to say "waiting 30 minutes prior" before entering the flight plan in, in order to save 3 minutes of inputs.

But, hey it's there!! I'm sure many will love it.

Maybe one day we can upload our correct pay credits and see them as well!!!

That was something I hadn't thought of. 30 mins prior may be a bit too late as plugging in the flight plan takes just a minute or two.

Stock buy backs are a way of "giving back" to investors. Not only does the company reduce the amount of shares available to the public (which has the knock on effect of adding value to the remaining shares and increasing P/E ratios), but usually uses it to avoid excessive cash on hand problems. The ability to buyback shares is a "big confidence boost" for Wall Street analysts as well.

Let's hope we're leading the charge in, NOT reacting and following JetBlue, Southwest or Delta in.

Actually, the flight plan can be "automatically" uploaded more then 30 minutes prior to blastoff. On the secondary flight plan init page, just select "flt plan init."

Depending on the city pairs, the ACARS will also print out a Starbucks coupon.

I can't remember the last time I had paperwork more than 30 min prior.

It works as advertised, even requesting it manually more than 30 minutes prior. If you do pull it prior to getting the PDC, the thing you have to watch out for is that what comes up in the box is what you are actually cleared for. As it appears what comes prior to the PDC is what is filed by the company in SABRE. So as far as I'm concerned, by the time you mess with it and enter the runways, SIDs, STARs, and clear out all the DISCOs, you might as well have entered it all manually. (and for the flights I fly anyways, none of the flight plan matters, as the first thing we get after getting handed off from departure to center is climb to final and cleared direct to the destination outer marker.)

634 also had the QRH (and the keys to the lockbox still in the lock.) The tail number specific QRHs have been laying around in the training center in the simulator building well before any of the recent 320 deliveries. The aircraft manufacturer has to supply a set of manuals with each aircraft - normally two sets of manuals are supplied. It's up to the customer to do what it wants with the supplied aircraft manuals. Since the normal checklist in the QRH doesn't match Spirit's normal checklist.

Now if we could only get gate assignment and in-range via ACARS and load uplink, we'd be complete.

Remember a year ago we had the gate assignments sent to us via ACARS? It was live for a few weeks and then, just like Keyser Soze, gone (poof)
