Those times were estimates, I apologize. My real times are a little different; 4240 total and 3970 SIC (Part 121). I was hired as a very low time F.O. and did not flight instruct, even though I have the ratings. I completed my CFI/II and was hired a week later at a regional carrier. This accounts for my low PIC time and the reason I asked about the requirement earlier.

525 here. I just broke 3500. Started 121 in summer of 2008. I sat reserve for 2 years flying a Saab, which doesn't exactly build hours. I didn't start to really climb in TT until I moved to the RJ. That's when I realized that it's tough to build up your TT in a turboprop.

Just got the TBNT letter less than 24hrs filling out the online app. I met all the required flight times. Oh well...

Same thing here. Got the TBNT letter yesterday. Meet all the requirements and was planning on going to the job fair had to drop a 4 day trip to make it happen...oh well.

My two cents- if you really want to be here, go anyway and show them not only what they missed on your app, but how much you want it. I don't know if they're asking you to wait to re-apply, but I'd still go. If you've got issues other than the basic quals (check ride or legal stuff), I'd address those first.

Thanks for the advice jungle rat. I am considering going. I noticed in my app my job history is not present and for some reason I can,t change it. Could have been that or my one failed check ride. Anyway would love to work here for the long term, especially if they open an east coast base.

A checkride fail is not disqualifying. I'd go to the job fair if I were you. Tactfully find out what may have turned them off initially and ask what you can do to make yourself more appealing. Depending on the feedback you get, tell them how much you want it, and ask for reconsideration. Worst case scenario is another TBNT. I'm thinking if you approach the situation with determination and professionalism, they'll be impressed and give you a shot. Nothing to lose!!!

I would definitely go. One failed ride shouldn't matter, especially if you can explain it (life stress, etc). As for the east coast base, it's when, not if. I've heard the Nov. class will all be based east of the Mississippi-maybe ChiTown short term, but my guess is IAD or CLE by Spring.

Would any of you fine aviators care to share where (rhyme?) you are all finding info on this job fair…I havent heard anything about one, is it by invitation only? …i don't meet the PIC requirement, but have never received the TBNT email, curious…very curious...
