The 80 is a good machine, great pilots airplane (but a high workload, the FO is busy on the ground). I'm dreading when I'll have to make a decision on what to bid when it's time to leave. I really don't want anything to do with the bus, but that's where the QOL will be for my seniority, so I'll probably grin and bear it.

One of These Airlines Is Not Like the Others (AAL, DAL, UAL)
American's capital commitments are even higher. The company's aircraft commitments total a staggering $35.9 billion, of which $19.6 billion is scheduled for the next five years. As a result, even if American can eventually match Delta dollar for dollar in terms of earnings, the vast majority of its operating cash flow for the next decade will be spent on new aircraft.
No wonder Parker doesn't want Profit Sharing....

With SOC expected for April, this would make sense.

Your guess is as good as mine for what that will be. 777 to TLV would be 2 airplanes and is pretty significantly needed. 330 is also overkill on some of the routes that it scheduled for. The 763 would be a good match for most CLT-Europe and some PHL-Europe routes.

You sure? I heard that's why they got the 787's and were going to do PHL-PIT hourly from 05:00 to 23:00 daily. They were also going to do the same from CLT-PIT with them. Why use them on routes that can bring in cash when we can use then for the non-rev shuttle?? Priorities people, priorities!!
