Maybe it will come with bite sized snickers to be placed in crew rooms from 8:15-9:00 (until supplies last).
I was unaware the checklist had any impact on work rules or quality of life.

I care about starting the engine 2 minutes early. Why? Because it allows me to start counting “block” time for 117 purposes 2 minutes early (which is another issue...it should start at door-beacon-brake). It also means I can start moving two minutes early on the last leg, and sometimes those minutes matter when you have a commute to make. I’ve hade 2 minutes make the difference between getting home in time for dinner as opposed to the next morning.

Those are quality of life improvements.

See my above post. Checklists and procedures can, in fact, have a direct relation to both. This one happens to be an improvement, even if it’s a small one.

It’s probably a wash when you factor in lost pay. Any benefit or loss is probably negligible when you factor in all the other randomness that affects when you actually get to the gate.

This just seems like a really odd thing to get either bent out of shape or excited about. It’s impact on day to day line flying is about as much as a 3 knot difference in winds aloft.

The nosewheel steering needs to be armed before the ACARS starts “block” and that doesn’t happen until after DGS debriefed how to disconnect the tow bar so you’re not gonna gain any extra time here.

I said people are more worried about a checklist than something that matters to improve quality of life. Are you the same guy who signs off on the checklists?

The people that make the checklists are not the same people in a position to improve QOL. BF or CD or TK don’t care what color checklist we’re using.

Maybe the next payday hot line will say something about the mec negotiating in blue checklist instead of those no good for nothing black checklist we've fought so hard to avoid.

For those not there anymore, what did they change in the checklist?

Verbiage to allow for engine start on pushback at CA discretion. No need to transfer controls for approach brief. APR switch stays armed all day. A few other minor things I’m forgetting. Some limitations were unboxed and some were boxed.
