I've been flying. I have today off but they gave me a trip tomorrow. I've been LCR all month long and this my first working day off.

I would think the May schedule will be further reduced than this month so LCR will maybe be better (less work). Also looking at the relief lines there at 14 ish LC lines in MKE? So do they use LC or LCR guys first?

Wouldn’t they use RSVs first?

If I had to guess I would say they use LC first, then LCR then normal reserve. Here is why, Long Call on a relief line can’t be moved to short call so if they are not used by 6pm 2 days before they can’t be used. Next is long call reserve, they can be converted to short call but can still be assigned flying ahead of time. Regular reserves have to wait till the day before for assignment. The company will do everything they can to keep from posting thing’s in open time and doing it in this order will do that. June will be interesting if they don’t make most of the reserves LCR.

I wouldn’t too much worry about being used on either .
You will have plenty of time over the next couple of months to sharpen your fishing skills while sitting LC or LCR.
600 pilots with two bases and only 60 lines ?? You could probably sit rr or rsv at home and be just fine lol

So now that another month has passed, can anyone share their May long call reserve experience? Did they use you a lot? Did they convert you to short call at all? Are you CA or FO and where were you based in May?

Default Long Call Reserve

MKE CA didn’t get used once in May on LCR. It went senior in June despite there being more LCR lines in total. Also no conversions to SCR. Easy month for me and it paid 10 hours more than bidding a relief and getting LC or actually having to fly an airplane. LC May be better now if available considering we’re back to 75 hours
